In 30 mpg, what Favor stats, minimally speaking, will bring you contentedness?

For me...

51% from the floor
66% from the line
14 ppg
8.8 rebounds
1.1 assists
1.4 blocks

That's my minimum I can live with...the first two numbers along with his assists is really what I'll be looking at since I feel like his blocks, rebounds and points will come naturally, though the latter perhaps to a lesser degree. But I am hoping for 52%, 69%, 15 ppg, 9.2 rebounds, 1.3 assists, and 1.5 blocks.

When Randy Foye news is.......ashes, you have my permission to continue this thread.

I'd be OK with the following:

53% FG
70% FT
13 PPG
8 RPG
1.5 APG
1.5 BPG

All of these numbers would show progression. Out of these, the ones I'd like to see the most are the assists and FT shooting. Favors has to take the Mailman approach of working hard and getting better on the FTs. And he has to do a better job of passing the ball. We don't want him to get as far along as Big Al has before finally passing a little more.

I'm not expecting to be content with Favors... I'm expecting numbers will show a future franchise power forward!

15 point/10 rebounds/2 blocks.

Those are pretty good numbers. If Big Al is on the team, maybe Fvaors doesn't hit 10 boards, as Jefferson is a good rebounder.

All Favors needs to do to get his points is increase his FT%. That's how Malone added points to his average. Derrick is going to get fouled a lot fighting for rebounds and putbacks. He needs to make that an asset, not a Shaq-like liability.

Favors played 30 min or more 8 times last season - and in those 8 games averaged 15.3 pts, 11.0 reb, 1.1 blk with 51% FG and 55% FT shooting.

Now, it's not fair to expect that production playing 30min/night for an 82-game season, but IMO Favors could not add another ounce of polish to his offensive repetoire and still average 11&10 as a starter just off his sheer athletic ability, length and the developing skillset he has now.

Those numbers make me happy! Favors=Franchise

Favors stats don't mean anything to me. I just want to see a legit post move out of him this season. And he's still not much of a PnR player so that would be great, too.

It's only a good post move if it goes in, so 48% isn't possible. He won't be shooting many jumpers.

Really? Because Jefferson's regularly touted for his "footwork" and "post game," not only by Jazz fans but by NBA anal.ysts and "experts." For some reason, his shooting percentage is always in that 48% range though

If you just tossed the ball in to Favors and told him to go to work, he'd shoot a dismal percentage. He can't get his own shot. Being able to get a shot is an actual skill most players in the NBA don't possess.

Al has basically shot 50% every season of his career. Zach Randolph's career average is 47 (49 and 50 with Memphis in the 2 years he wasn't hurt). Zach gets to the line more, and this isn't a comparison between the 2, but having a post player who can generate his own offense is very, very valuable.

I was being a bit sarcastic about Favors. But Jefferson shoots quite a few jumpers throughout the game. I would guess he takes 3-5 jumpshots out of his 17 shots a game.

Really? Because Al hasn't shot 50% since the 07/08 season. I mean, we could round up but when a lot of bigs are shooting 55-60% and/or get to the line at a good rate, I'm not going to give him the benefit of the doubt.

Little disingenuous don't you think? Since his rookie season, Al has shot, .528/.499/.514/.500/.497/.498/.496/.492. Al's going to shoot 50%. Meanwhile, he's doing that with a huge amount of shots. If he didn't have a lot of ability, he could never do that.

Of Centers last year, he was 1st in points at 49. Bynum was, an is, better than him at nearly 19 shooting 56.

Going down the list, Duncan shot 49 (15); Gortat 55 (15); Monroe 52 (15); Gasol 48 (15); Hibert 50 (13).

I'm not sure everyone is realistic about what stats Al should have in the FG% department. And except for Bynum, none of those guys is in Al's class offensively.

Disingenuous? No. He hasn't shot 50% in four years. Meanwhile, yes, there are a bunch of bigs in that 55-60% range or better than 49+% anyway. This year...in what was a terrible down year...
