Ingles breaks the franchise record for most 3s made in a season

Being slender and an athletic build are very different things. He's built like Rik Smits.

He's got chicken legs and likely isn't winning a body building contest. You know guys look across the court and think I'm gonna own that guy.

I have some of the same stuff going... in league and pickup. It's great tho... if they've never seen me I get 6-8 points before they make a switch and put someone who can defend on me.

I feel like I can relate and every night I enjoy him giving it to guys.

Don’t criticize Donovan....ever!

Just kidding, but I don’t think this is a fair criticism. There are several times during games the shot clock is at like 2-3 seconds and guys toss Donovan the ball and he has no choice but to jack some of those 3s. I’d like to see his shooting percentage minus some of the bad shots he gets forced into taking. It’s actually a credit to him, he could get pissed about getting forced into low percentage shots but doesn’t care that it might hurt that percentage. He has a very pretty shot, and he’ll just get better and better. He can shoot any time he wants he’s earned it, I find myself several times a night upset with those strong pumpfakes he does and wish he’d pull the trigger more often.
There are some of those. But more often his misses are due to taking long 3's with plenty of time left on the clock. Of course, i blame Ricky for part of that. Donovan is generally just a spectator when Ricky gets the ball. In the 1st and 3rd its like watching Burke/Hayward all over again. Rubio wants to drive every single time and put up a lot of shots. So maybe Mitchell feels like he has to shoot because once he gives the ball to Ricky he's not getting it back.

I rarely see Donovan just jack a shot that feels forced. Once in a while sure, but rarely. I also agree with you, it feels like he’s not involved when he’s just reduced to camping in the corner during those times you speak of. I just don’t feel like he’s ever just jacking shot after shot. I like him shooting as opposed to a lot of their guys. If there’s anyone who has the right to kind of shoot when he chooses to it’s him.

I agree with this... honestly sometimes he’s a little too unselfish. Makes extra pass on drives I think he could likely finish or moved the ball to a worse shooter when we have guys in the blender.

He will shoot some long threes later in the shot clock but he usually gets clean looks and at that point I’d rather force that shot then a long two or a floater.

My least favorite thing he does when they have a team in blender is make that extra pass to Rubio to shoot the 3. I’d much rather he took the shot.

I feel like you're watching a different team than me.

The way Mitchell has been shooting 3's of late (2-7 vs. Pho, 1-8 vs. Sac) he may break the record for missed 3's in a season. Or has he already?

That's my one criticism of Donovan. He takes a lot of very ill-advised 3's.

I'd like to see Donovan be more aggressive about getting to the rim for easier buckets and to draw more fouls to get free throws. I think that will be his next big leap forward. And I do think that it will come in time. I don't really have a problem with him taking the threes that he does take though. He's shown over the course of the year that he is comfortable hitting them. 35% from three is not bad given the amount of threes he's taken. I think that his three point percentage will rise over the years. He's still only a rookie. He's going to refine and improve many aspects of his game.

Congratulations to Joe! Couldn't happen for a better guy. I hope Joe remains as a Jazzman forever. As a player and then as a member of the coaching staff, tv announcer, member of the front office, whatever he wants to do.

We should celebrate everything that Ingles brings to the team and everything that he stands for off of the basketball court. He adds tremendous value the organization and has helped us turn haters into believers. Good Job Joe.

I think Donovan is stingy with when to use his superpowers. He paces himself. In a few years when he's got that old-man stamina he's going to play four quarters.

See how many long 3's he takes against Atlanta and how much time is left on the clock when he does it. It's a big reason his 3PT% has dipped. I'm all for him taking shots, but he needs to be more selective from deep.

Rubbish. Mitchell has the highest usage rate on the team, and shoots the ball at the highest rate - 1 shot every 4 possessions. Rubio has the highest assist % on the team. Mitchell's poor shot selection is his own problem, it's not caused by anyone else.

He does not have poor shot selection. Maybe one a game? Okay. I can point out plenty of players taking shots that they could have got a better one. For what he’s brought, he can shoot any time he wants....and I’m sure the coaching staff has told him to do so in different words.
