There's really no answer

Alec was playing out of position part of the year as a PG.

Gordon has been playing out of position all year as a #1 option.

One thing: when Alec comes off the bench and has a lousy game, no one really says anything about it other than a few posts. When Hayward has a lousy game, threads pop up all off the place about how he's a bust/over-rated/trade him/don't resign him.

It comes with the territory when asking for more money, deal with it.

Alec is definitely impressive lately. But I am not disappointed in Hayward's season. If Alec can keep up the play of late, then it is really a great bonus, as mostly everyone but Zulu had written him off as a streaky enigma coming into the season.

In totality, I'd say Hayward is having a better season than Burks, but I think it's fair to say that Burks has had a longer streak of consistency than Hayward has at any point in the season.

It is pretty close. But since fans expected so much more from Hayward I would say Alec is having better season expectation wise.

I really think Jazz fans who expected more from Hayward were delusional. Since entering the league he has never jumped into any situation with two feet on the ground. Coming into the league he was slow developing and wildly inconsistant. Same could be said when they tried to make him a 3 and then again when they tried to make him an every day starter. And now he's struggling as the primary option - not a surprise by any stretch as far as I'm concerned.

As far as his pending free agency - are people really sore that he didn't sign the extension? I'm not sure why. An NBA career is very short - he's going to drain every nickle that he can from the league and I don't blame him.

Per 36.

Swaggy-Nova vs. Swaggy P

Ok, so Player A is Burks, but who is player B here and how is it relevant to the thread?

All of that post is pretty spot-on except for one thing: He was very consistent when he entered the NBA. He was consistently awful. One of the worst players in the league until I think it was late December.

Player B is probably nick young who is a 10 year vet and has had all kinds of playing time at his natural position and many more starts than burks..... so ya

We talking about Alec 'Easy 20, Slick Pimp, his governor's name' Burks here?

Young players in new roles, let's give them some time.

This....

You could see Burks was just ready to break out... Well at least I did...

Comments like he sucks and shouldn't see the court again were by posters who know not the Basketball!!!

Burks is much more talented than Hayward. Hayward played 16. minutes in his first and like 30. minutes in his second year. Nobody can tell me about Hayward being more ready than Kanter or Burks at that time. Hayward is treated like a ultimate franchise player, but I do not know why ?

You are the MAN !!!

I think Gordon is having a better season, but it is still early in the season and a limited data set to be sure. We will know more at the all-star break and even more at season end. But I think all-around Gordon brings more to the table.

burks looking legit for months now.

december
~14 pts, 3.5 rebs, 3 asts, 49%fg, 45%3pt, 79%ft (27 mins) --> at haywards 36.4 mpg that equates to 18.6, 4.7, 3.9

january
~16, 4, 3, 47%, 37%, 79% (30 mins) --> 19.2, 4.5, 3.8

kid is really making a case for himself

Burks > Hayward.

Hayward is a better shooter though, but it's not like he is elite. I guarantee you give burks the same amount of touches as Hayward has this year, he plays better.
