Is Big Al the worst starting center in the league, defensively?

Like Millsap, I think Al's a bit tired out there. I think both Paul and Al should be getting right around 30 minutes per, or even less when Kanter and Favors are playing well (like tonight).

Al's PnR D and transition D will always be bad (the Harris-Al combo on PnRs is otherworldly), but he was making a concerted effort earlier in the year to play help D, sliding over to draw charges. His man D is fine too, when he has the energy. It's gotta be hard as hell to be surrounded by such god awful perimeter players.

Yeah, you're probably onto something there. The other team constantly runs high picknrolls and so Al and Paul are both workiing overtime on defense because other teams want to exploit that weakness.

To the OQ, Yes, he is a strong cadidate to be considered atleast as one of the worst ones. (Of course I don't count Memo, he's my fellow countryman, hehe:) )

Big Al simply just not play winning basketball. Sure he is not a good defender, but the rest of his game is SO one dimensional - if his less than 50% push shot doesn`t go in, what is there to Big Al? He crazyly slows down the game to his ogre pace, not much fun to watch, and kills team play. Sure he makes an OCCASIONAL pass, but not near often enough.

With the numbers he`s been putting up lately, we should be able to get a good wing/guard player - that we need more than any other team. Any other team. NO ONE is a realistic threat from outside of 20 feet (maybe except for our power forward), and i`m really getting tired our wings/guards playing freaking hot potato with the basketball.
