Is Burks superfluous now?

I get why people are wanting to trade him now, but why not wait until we absolutely have to clear cap space to resign other guys? I mean, we're 11 mil under the cap right now, his value is at an all-time low, and he's on a great contract compared to what teams are paying other guys. There's no reason to rush into trading him for a future 2nd or something like that.

Burks was getting to the rim when Hayward was having to pull out every move in his arsenal just to get a mid range jumper. Burks is going to be nasty with this group.

I really hope that Alec Burks gets back to healthy, because he is James Harden-lite with the ball in his hands. With Hayward, Joe Johnson, Burks, and (maybe) Lyles you would have 4 playmakers that you could close the game with either Gobert or Favors. If you needed a bucket any of those 4 at the same time could be a nightmare.

There are literally zero scenarios where I'd want Alec Burks closing games for this team.

He'd be one of the first guys on the team I would trade (just haven't seen enough of him lately, but I know what I'm getting with other guys). But there's no rush at all, if we did I'd look at switching him out for a young guy on a cheap deal and a 2nd. (one of Covington/Holmes from Philly?)
