Is Earl Watson really OK as b/u to Devin Harris?

So Price has the one thing the other 3 doesn't...flat out speed to catch up to someone at the rim. That is the only reason the others would have given up on the play is if they physically simply could not catch up. Don't try to pretend that Price is the only player in the world that cares about the game or the team or the play.

They wouldn't sacrifice looking stupid to try and stop the score by the opposite team. When everyone flat out quite during the Lakers game when we were down Millsap and Price brought the Jazz back in that game 5.

If I ever see Price in a Jazz uniform again it will be too soon. I don't want him back in any way shape or form. He could volunteer to play for free and I would be against the Jazz accepting him.

People seem to have a personal problem with Ronnie Price and I can not think of any player in Jazz history where that would be more misplaced.

Being the 13th guy on the roster means you don't play much. Calm down.

We have to sign someone???? My vote would be to get Earl back. Jazz are notorious for bringing in 2 PGs under the Sloan regime. Will be interested in how Coach Ty sorts things out.

I have nothing agianst him personnally. The problem is as the 11th-12th guy off of the bench he did get minute for us and he is absolutely terrible. Great he hustles on defense. He makes up for that by being an absolute liability on offense.

Complete liability? He's not great at creating but he was one of the primary reasons the weird 2nd unit was so good last year. He can finish and get to the line, isn't the worst shooter on earth, and isn't a complete ballhog. Also the most athletic player the Jazz had since... I don't know... prime-AK or David Benoit until the Jazz got Evans.

For a guy that brings all of that, that is just fine as a 5th guard.

I feel like I'm one of the only people on this site that didn't wildly sway between two extremes with Price. I liked Hart more than him for the first half of the season they were here together (which is when Price really brought it and had an incredible rest of the season). I thought Brevin Knight should've been playing ahead of Price when they were here together, the whole way through. I stand by all of that.

I also saw right through the issue when he 'stood up' to the Lakers. I'm confident that was one of the most valuable tantrums ever thrown even if I still appreciated it. The Price/Knight issue discussed on this board was hilarious, especially after Price threw the kitchen sink in that game.

Not everyone can sit on the bench most of the time and still give 110% at all times and be an NBA player. He is a consummate professional and is an ideal end of rotation player.

I don't know if I want him re-signed. It would depend on how everything else shook out. I can tell you that I'd rather have Price for peanuts than Harris for $20 million.

Great post.

Ummm. Brevin knight? Jason hart? Really? Price over both those two everyday of the week. Jerry sloan is gone now so we don't have to have three point guards. Especially if none of them can dish the ball. Doesn't that just make them short 2 guards. We could just run two shooting guards at once sometimes.

Part of why we should hold off on re-signing Watson is if this Jefferson/Chris Paul rumor actually bears fruit.
I actually like Price as an end-of-the-bench guy, THIRD string PG or SG. His energy has gotten us back into games that were lost too many times to count over the years. IMO, Sloan used him as the #2 too many times, and in the wrong situations. If we do end up with Chris Paul and keep Harris, I'd rather see us re-sign Price than Watson... Picture us going small with Paul and Harris together, with Price as a b/u... Non-stop energy...
