I'm all for re-signing Price as 3rd string point guard.
So Price has the one thing the other 3 doesn't...flat out speed to catch up to someone at the rim. That is the only reason the others would have given up on the play is if they physically simply could not catch up. Don't try to pretend that Price is the only player in the world that cares about the game or the team or the play.
People seem to have a personal problem with Ronnie Price and I can not think of any player in Jazz history where that would be more misplaced.
Being the 13th guy on the roster means you don't play much. Calm down.
I have nothing agianst him personnally. The problem is as the 11th-12th guy off of the bench he did get minute for us and he is absolutely terrible. Great he hustles on defense. He makes up for that by being an absolute liability on offense.
I feel like I'm one of the only people on this site that didn't wildly sway between two extremes with Price. I liked Hart more than him for the first half of the season they were here together (which is when Price really brought it and had an incredible rest of the season). I thought Brevin Knight should've been playing ahead of Price when they were here together, the whole way through. I stand by all of that.
I also saw right through the issue when he 'stood up' to the Lakers. I'm confident that was one of the most valuable tantrums ever thrown even if I still appreciated it. The Price/Knight issue discussed on this board was hilarious, especially after Price threw the kitchen sink in that game.
Not everyone can sit on the bench most of the time and still give 110% at all times and be an NBA player. He is a consummate professional and is an ideal end of rotation player.
I don't know if I want him re-signed. It would depend on how everything else shook out. I can tell you that I'd rather have Price for peanuts than Harris for $20 million.
