I think as Hayward has grown more into a man, players have come to respect him much more. when he first came into the league he looked like a privileged white boy from the suburbs, whereas, as it has been well documented, a fairly high percentage of NBA players come from lower income single parent families. Anyway, I can't imagine Delonte West and Afflalo doing stuff like this to someone like KG or even Chris Paul. Gotta imagine Hayward has gained a lot of respect from other NBA players over the past two years for a variety of reasons. I can't imagine DWill's punk *** throwing a ball at Hayward in the middle of a game now either. What do you guys think?
As the stalwarts of most organized sports will tell you, respect within the game is always earned and very rarely given for most know that just because you were a big fish in a small pond while playing for your respective college or university's team, that success does not always translate. That being said, the idea that even a modicum of players looked at Hayward as the bolded text is laughable and manufactured inferiority. 2 knuckleheads and 1 emotional player aren't even 1% of all the players in the league. Let's not even talk about the players that came up with Hayward in the college ranks and who learned who he was even before he reached the league.
Tom Pitt would do well as a click bait journalist.
