What's new

Is it too early for a fire Corbin thread

I know we won and all, but this season is not about winning its about developing the young players. Starting Jefferson and giving Jefferson equal time with Burks is not the approach I was hoping for.

Stats: Jefferson 4 pts in 21:55 min; 2-5 from floor
Burks 14 points in 21:30 mins; 6-10 from floor

I really want the core 5 to play 30-35 mins. per night. I don't care if Jefferson can still play. I don't want him taking away mins. from Burks.

Same goes for Beans. Play Gobert instead.

I don't think there are many posters who rip on Corbin more than I do, but if he made a coaching mistake in last night's game it was too subtle for me to catch. The Jazz currently have 20 players on the roster and Corbin needs to decide who to cut. If he is going to give the players a fair shake before he makes the cuts, then he needs to give them time on the court to show what they can do. Also, the preseason is the Coach's chance to experiment with linups, so let's wait until the season starts before ripping Corbin for his line ups, substitutions, and distribution of minutes.

Best poster on the site.

He is a ball hog though. Might as well own up to it and play to his strengths instead of pretending he's something he's not.

Minute 0:27 is the definition of ball hog.

If there is any justice in the world, we'll see them take this approach to Burks' development this year. He does a couple of things really well; put him in position to do those couple of things.

only douches argue about the distribution of minutes in one pre-season game.

Only douche drinkers pretend Corbin does not have a history of playing veterans over young stud players that need to develop and then calls everyone names who do not agree with them. Grow up dude.

I actually liked the starting lineup...a lot.
It not only moves Alec to the role of stud with the 2nd unit (a la Manu Ginobili) but it also moves Gordon to the SG position...a position I think he is better suited for and thrives more naturally in.
When I heard the news my first thought was good it moves Hayward to SG, my second thought was, I wonder what carnage and hellfire wrath is going on at JF's right now.
