Is Ruby 'really' worth a max?

There's a zero percent the Jazz get something better than they have Rudy if they replace him.

Also, that on/off "analysis" is quite. Yeah we might be the Rockets if Rudy is off the floor...if that also means Harden is off the floor. These are the Locke-esque type numbers that ruin the use of actual good analysis.

He might be worth building around if they would build around him. They've surrounded him with defensive sieves though, so no he's not worth building around like that. They've cooked the Golden goose.
Players who are both elite offensively and defensively are stars. You aren’t getting a bunch of stars in SLC to put beside him. If he’s going to get the money he has to have the impact to warrant it. Stars win you titles.

Also zero chance you win a title if he’s getting paid $45-60 million a year.

Yes. Rudy has significantly improved every year. He is like a diesel motor. Steady, Powerful, reliable. Not flashy, but the guy pulling the load. I believe in Rudy above any other player on the team.

Above? Sure. But is he a giannis, lebron, davis type of player?

Thats what the summer max is designed for. Rudy gobert is looking at a super max while being a defensive anchor, sure, but idk if you pay him kawhi leonard, lebron, davis, or Giannis type of money.

Even for players like dame its a tough one, because dame is a beast, but how much money is he holding up in
The cap that could have added depth?

There’s absolutely no way we should pay Rudy the super max. I love the guy but he’s not worth it and will severely prohibit us.

Zion for Rudy!

It actually makes a lot of on court sense for the Pels but they would
never do it.

If we win a title, it's going to be because of Donovan Mitchell. He has the ability to grow into a player who is the difference maker.

Gobert is a really good player, but his impact on the game seems to lessen in the playoffs. He simply can't take the game over. And against elite teams, they will just go small to get around him. He will lose the battle against AD, get stretched out by Lopez, get outplatooned by the Clippers or just get outplayed again by Houston.

In my opinion, we trade Gobert for Jaylen Brown this summer. We re-sign Favors. And if we can be bold enough, we dump Conley so we can sign a guy like Montrez Harrell.

Mitchell
Brown
Ingles/Royce
Bojan
Harrell/Favors
6th Man Clarkson

That team could contend for a title.

We would be ten times worse without Rudy. People think it’s always greener on the other side.

I don't have the time, but can somebody run statistics of what we have done against .500+ teams the last two seasons? And while you're at it, will you run statistics on minutes with Rudy and without Rudy but with Favors during our 3 playoff series the last two postseasons?

I'm guessing here, but I think that our postseason production numbers are relatively close between Rudy minutes and Favors minutes. I'd also be willing to guess that we don't fare all that well against the best teams in the league even with Rudy in the lineup.

People who think we will become some bottom feeder without Rudy are just scared. Many are the same people who thought we would be a top of the lottery team when Hayward left.
