Let's go ahead and say that he is. Let's then buy low on him, offer Minnesota salary relief, and ask for their pick in the 2030s, or whatever pick they're now eligible to trade, to take that contract off their hands.
I agree that he is terrible. Let's trade for him and help our tank. Minnesota sends us a first.

Then let’s do the swap. And some seconds. And some cash so that Ryan doesn’t have to move the team to Las Vegas. They don’t have a first they can trade. Maybe a swap in 2028.
Just tell them we will do the deal in the summer and all they have to do is agree to actively tank this year. Send Ant to Mexico for a month or two, KAT does extended rehab, tell D Lo to really explore the studio space for a few months. They don’t have a first they can trade. Maybe a swap in 2028.
This sums it up better than I could. Watching Kessler try to go up the ladder for a Conley ally oop recently I had to say to myself that Gobert would have gotten that. We used to run the prettiest ally oops in the league with Gobert imo with a very high success rate because almost nobody could do anything to stop them. I watched the Pels game yesterday and Rudy didn’t get a single one. He’s mostly just a screen and roller now that almost never gets the feed.He is not a plug and play piece... that much we know for sure. I'm still blaming more on Ant and DLo lack of BBIQ and lob passing ability and their coaches for not knowing how to use him offensively.
That being said.. lately it has looked like his hands are worse than they used to be. He is fumbling rebounds and passes way more than I remember him doing. Maybe its the criticism and pressure getting to him? They also rank 24th in REB% which seems outlandish for a team that has Gobert at center.
That being said, if you saw them play Miami few days ago you may have noticed Ant had 8 turnovers, 7 of which belonged in the "ugly" category. They are 26th in turnover% and 22nd in 3PT%. So they rank near league bottom on turnovers, 3s and boards. All three are kinda important these days.. and only 1 of those 3 pin blame on Rudy.
Overrated, yes most overrated in the history of the league not by a long shot. Put Gobert on a team that he fits on and they become gang busters. In Utah he was asked to be the entire defense. I think a late part of the problem is this team was overrated. Unless you are Jordan or LBJ it’s too much to ask one player to be the entire one side of the court. I also think the wolves overrated jaden McDaniels, the wolves added another pick or two for that alone and that’s nuts. Also is it possible everyone overlooked Vando and Beasley? Ant Edwards is still very young and probably doesn’t know what to do, or how to attack with Gobert on the team. I don’t think all the blame falls on Goberts shoulders. As to this trade not working out, but at the same time he’s not good enough to make the desired impact and it was foolish to make that trade.Rewind to a few months ago and the majority of people here were pounding their chest about how Rudy was such an amazing talent/impactful player and that he would instantly transform the Wolves into a top 2 seed / championship contender.
Now he's struggling without Quin Snyder/Donovan Mitchell to carry him and people are already saying that it may be one of the worst trades in NBA history (as I predicted from the jump, shout out to me).
So that leads me to ask, is he the most overrated player in NBA history? And does Donovan's success and MVP candidacy show that he was truly our best player (hint: yes)?
