Is Sap running out of gas as a starter?

Obviously it would be helpful to have AK & Memo healthy so he doesn't have to play more minutes but still:

The same thing happened in 2009 when Boozer was out all those months with an ingrown toenail.

Those seem pretty consistent. October is the only stand-out month but it contained 3 games, in which the Jazz lost 2.

Sap's rebounding has just been horrendous this year compared to where it should be based on prior years. Hayward out-rebounded him tonight in a lot less minutes. Williams out-rebounded him.

What has surprised the most about his season is lack of rebounding. I mean before the season started I expected him to AT LEAST get close to 10 a game.

IMO he's been out of gas since January. Offensively teams have adjusted to take away the dives to the rim and wide-open jumpers he was getting earlier in the season, but the past month and a half it hasn't been uncommon to see him getting outworked.

Ok, I got a stat for Sap fans.

Boozer sucks, but in all the time Boozer has been out with injuries, he has outrebounded Millsap by 1 Million rebounds, give or take. Hard to say who is better.;)

Work ethic and hustle make for great role players..sorry. We need a center (memo?) and Al starting at PF. Sap is quality 6th man potential, imo. Over a season, when teams adjust and know him....not that special anymore.

Certainly appears that way. He's far better off the bench. Going up against larger opponents who are also more experienced night after night, I can understand how it could wear on him...
Deron also was off; 6 turnovers... I was wishing he'd have stopped jawing with the refs too; that's sometimes a sign of frustration. Save your energy for the GAME, man...

He's not running out of gas, teams are just scouting him now after his sublime start to the season, and he doesn't have an answer

Sap is struggling and tired because sometimes he is the only person who even likes to step up and play some damn basketball. Every once in a while or games, he'll crash like any normal human being. Deron and Sap need some outside shooting talent to support them to be successful. No ones a lebron on our team.

Methinks he was simply over-rated, especially by JazzFanz.

I think this team is running out of gas.

The truth is, Millsap is a slightly more skilled Udonis Haslem. He's not Karl Malone.

this team lacks talent.

He's a hard worker and I love the guy, but I've never agreed with the notion that he should start. I'd much rather Big Al start at the 4 and have Fes or Okur (when healthy) start at the 5.

Clearly we would be better starting Big Al as PFF and bringing Millsap off the bench, BUT, clearly K Fes is not ready for starter minutes. I think Sap is finding being a starter is much harder than coming off the bench. He is a great rebounder when his motor is running high, but when he is tired, he is just an average rebounder.

An extremely tough post, but I have to agree. ****, I love Millsap and think he's talented as all get out but he needs to be moved to the bench and AJ needs to take his spot. STAT.

All I want to know is where the rebounding went. That has little to do with running out of gas, it's been lackluster all year.
