Is the Federal Income Tax unconstitutional?

Didn't the S.C just approve ObamaCare on the grounds that the it is a tax and that is under the jurisdiction of the Feds and constitutional?

And weren't a lot of DC honchos pretty sure that Obamacare was unconstitutional because of some things the Constitution says about fundamental limitations applicable to the Federal government?

Even Hatch was on board with that assessment.

Wow isn't the Constitution just like the bible looks like who ever wants to spins it in their own purgative.

The difference is that there is an established ultimate authority that has the final say on whether something is constitutional. There isn't an established authority on the Bible that everyone accepts.

It's being disputed? lol

Well, the Bill of Rights is part of the constitution. So by definition, federal taxes are constitutional. There is no disputing that! But if he's disputing whether it SHOULD be constitutional, that's a different debate.

No I am serious. Wasn't that the basis of their decision?

Sorry, but look at the latest decisions of SCOTUS there are always 4 that go one way and 3 that are dissenting to the ruling. And the President nominates the justices based on the way they lean politically. Looks just like a bible interpretation to me.

there are 9 so it would be 5 to 4 but yes alot of decisions go that way. Not suprising.

I knew that .. which is why I typed, lol.

Did something happen to the 16th Amendment?

The Supreme Court has ruled multiple times, that the 16th amendment granted the federal government no new powers of taxation.

Even if the 16th amendment WAS legally ratified by all states, the tax code itself points out that's it's upon "voluntary compliance ".

New to the 16th or not, the power is clear.

The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes on incomes, from whatever source derived, without apportionment among the several States, and without regard to any census or enumeration.

You also never addressed the IRS's wording of voluntary compliance in the tax code.
Could this be because the IRS knows full well that federal taxes are indeed unconstitutional?
