I'm trying to wrap my head around this, but is it possible that Al and Milsap are playing an undeserved 32+ minutes a night because KOC doesn't want Favors to request a large contract and wants him hidden from the league so he can afford him? And is this why Kanter is getting 12 minutes a night and why Burks is riding the bench?

I'm going to hold on to this thought when I watch the next time Al gets posted up and stands there for 7 seconds. It'll keep me sane.

Someone posted that whole 'hidden from the league so the jazz can resign em for less' earlier this season. That's gotta be the stupidest thing I've ever read....

Yep, both Al and Sap are being given their role to protect their value as trade assets.

So he is not giving them their deserved minutes, thus to give them lesser money than they deserve. I don`t think he is that evil.

And he doesn`t make long term plans, saving the day satisfies him.

Since when did a GM divide out minutes.

The problem is the coach not the GM.

And the coach is a problem. Favors and Kanter should both be playing more than Jefferson and Millsap.

That is the conclusion that I am at. We know what Jefferson and Millsap bring to the team and often they are not clearly superior to Favors and Kanter.

I honestly don't understand why Ty doesn't send Millsap to the bench. He could join Hayward as the focal point on offense in the second unit. Millsap and Al in at the same time just doesn't work defensively, and gives the team more diversity. At this point I don't see either getting traded. I was sure one would get traded before the season started, and it didn't happen. Oh well...

I guess we will have to wait till years end, and hope both Al and Millsap aren't in the plans going forward.

Because Millsap has already been put on the bench for a few 4th quarters and he pouted. Can't have a vet Pouting that takes Corbin back to his playing days then he feels sorry for them. Corbin has not got the balls to stand up to the vet players. It's been shown on at least 3 occasions now.

    In Utah? Since Jerry left.

And to the OP--Is there a plan? Yes, first round of playoffs puts the team in the black, everything else is gravy.

I would have liked to see Kanter guard Zach Randolph when Randolph was steam rolling us last night.

I logged on the forum this morning to make this exact same post. It's very strange to me that everyone around the league (fans included) knows that Favors & Kanter both deserve more playing time. Why do the Jazz not realize this? Sure, Ty Corbin is ultimately responsible for how much PT these guys get every night, but Dennis Lindsey has to be watching these games and thinking it's time to trade Millsap or Jefferson, just so Corbin has to play Derrick and Enes more often. Kanter posts a positive +/- against Memphis, shoots perfect from the field and the line, and ends up with a team low 14 minutes. It's unfathomable to explain some of the rotation and coaching decisions from Ty.

It's a wild and grand conspiracy, but are the Jazz purposefully limiting Favors & Kanters minutes so they can resign them for $8-10 mil/year instead of $13-14? I highly doubt it, but there is no other logical explanation for what is going on. The fact that Hayward has played about 30 minutes a game for a year or two pretty much kills the idea, but he also plays at a position where we are relatively thin on talent.

I just have an awful feeling that we are going to alienate the future face(s) of our franchise if they don't see much playing time during their rookie deal. The Jazz front office seems to be content miring in mediocrity.

Here's a telling statistic for this season: the highest +/- for a 4 player combination on the Jazz this year is Tinsley, Carroll, Hayward and Kanter who have posted a collective +51 this season. By comparison, Durant, Westbrook, Ibaka & Sefolosha have posted a +55.

Plan? One of the things that really kill me is for a team not going to win a championship we have Willams, older, and oldest at PG. Please explain whey we have not taken a chance on a young guy. Remember somebody named Matthews who was undrafted.

You dare question Corbin the great. None of us here on Jazzfanz have the right to argue with a coach that has a losing all time record. Who do you think you are?
