Is Trey Lyles Dead to Snyder

If he's just a DNP - CD, they might as well give him some run down in the D league. Bolomboy has had a solid year down there, and maybe it'll help with Lyles confidence. In all honesty, it can't hurt.

Whatever the case, I'm happy with what Snyder does with him. Sometimes we're too close to the first to see the trees. . . but the Jazz have one of the best player development coaching staffs in the whole league.

A coach has to have options. With Favors out, Quin has only Diaw, JJ, and Lyles to play PF. If Diaw or JJ got in foul trouble, played poorly, or got hurt, Lyles in D-League means being stuck playing Hayward or Ingles at the 4.

Recall Bolomboy while Lyles is with Stars...

Trey will be fine. He was just a DNP because JJ was back and our team has been playing well with him at the 4 and Lyles has been struggling so Quin would probably like to sit him for a while. Let him recharge.

No. Far too soon to be giving up on Trey. Especially after what we saw from him last year.
And dekker sucks

At this point, Trey Lyles is a bigger bust and disappointment for me than Trey Burke. I had a lot of expectations and saw a lot of promise in Lyles while I didn't have the same expectations for Burke.

I hope Lyles will rebound in the off-season.

Trey had a DNP-CD last night. With Favors injury it would appear he was needed. I'm getting the feeling he is entering the land of Brock Motum, Kevin Murphy, Jack Cooley, Bryce Cotton and Elijah Millsap as far as Quin is concerned.
Against one of the best offensive teams in the league you don't need a defensive hole in the lineup. There is nobody to hide Lyles on with the Rockets. Trey is just young, I hope he learns to play defense and can get his confidence back in his shot.

Give him some burn in the dleague to find his shot/confidence.

I think unlike Exum, D-League is not the best place for Lyles. He is not that raw in O and he would feel too easy honing his already owned skills there. What he needs is to learn to adapt to a system instead of iso performances so that he can be an incredible value to the Jazz with the talent he possesses.

I post, therefore I am.

Yeah, Lyles has to figure out how to be a role player and succeed, not be a featured guy on a D-League team against nobodies.

Trey needs to learn how to play better and consistent defense and also figure out how to position himself to either block out or rebound. His shot is likely to eventually come back over time. Remember when Ingles started and people were dissing him because he was missing so much ?

What gives me some hope for Lyles is that at one point in time he was hitting some fairly big shots for us, which means he has it in him somewhere. If he keeps working to improve his weaknesses, eventually he'll get another shot. However, until he finds his way and works himself back into the rotation through dedicated work, I'm fine with him warming the bench.

Either way, it is probably better Lyles gets his life lessons early. Perhaps it will help him work harder and toughen him up.

Lyles needs to put serious work into developing his body and strength. He needs to learn everything he can from Joe Johnson while he's here

He's dead to me. I wanted Booker.
Can't tell if you're being facetious? Kid is 19 bro. Give him time to develop physically and mentally. He's a smart kid and has the physical tools (beside the body ATM which he can change) to be a great player in this era of NBA.

Imagine a Hayward type body transformation with Lyles while developing his understanding when to shoot, drive or post up. Kid could be a beast if he wants it.

I was watching the Lakers game last night on the flight back to the West Coast. They were talking abut how Walton told Russell to make 1000 threes a day. Lyles needs to spend time in the gym shooting. We know the guy can shoot - he just needs to do it.
