What's new

Israel Commences Ground Invasion into Gaza.

but it is interesting that the bigger and stronger in the world are imposing their morality over the issue to stop the stronger player (Israel) from doing what every stronger player on the planet has done at one point or another.
eh? It's because Israel has the backing of the US that the current situation persists. The rest of the international community would have stopped Israeli expansion long ago. If it were politically viable in the US to stop this garbage, it would be over tomorrow, and the Palestinians would have their own state.

Kind of an interesting topic, but why not? The only reason they don't is because bigger and stronger groups out there (us for example) tell them they can't. Which big strong group is right? We took land from the indians by being bigger and stronger, but the statute of limitations seems to have run out on that one. I am not making a call one way or the other as I don't know what is right in this situation, but it is interesting that the bigger and stronger in the world are imposing their morality over the issue to stop the stronger player (Israel) from doing what every stronger player on the planet has done at one point or another.

WW2 and the UN

Comparing the policies of a modern country to events from before WW2 is like comparing the policies of a modern US State to the policies of States before the Civil War.

It is not ok for you to have slaves because Thomas Jefferson had them and it is not ok for Israel to seize land through aggression because the US once did.

From one of the incidents described in the following article:
https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/middle-east/un-to-stop-updating-death-toll-in-syria-conflict-9045096.html

Which was reposted a few days ago as a photo from Gaza.

So was the case with other photos as well:
https://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/2014/07/09/bbcs-old-gaza-image-information-war_n_5569869.html

Or the case where a Hamas rocket hit the UNRWA school inside the Gaza strip instead of Israel, killing 15 people, while claiming it was an Israeli attack. You can compare the two pictures bellow. One is from a rocket hit in Israel, the other is from the UNRWA school. Please notice the distinct mark the self-manufactured Hamas rockets leave when they hit the ground. The shallow crater, created as a result of contains more shrapnel than high explosive, which is the one crucial difference between military grade ammunition and other types of ammunition that do not comply with Geneva Conventions.

And even this:

The point of this post -
I'm not manifesting cheap propaganda and I'm not trying to convince you to change your mind. What I'm trying to do is to light a lot of false information that keeps being spread around. Hamas's PR are top notch, among the best you may find, and they know how to gain support. Also, keep in mind a lot of the journalistic sources from Gaza are heavily monitored by armed Hamas representatives. The fact that not a single picture of armed Hamas forces leaked out, not a single video of rocket firing from Gaza, although thousands have been officially fired, Not a single mentioning of delayed IDF operations because of civilian activities, must raise a red flag.

I strongly recommend that you read the following article, which was taken down from the french newspaper's website due to the reporter's request:
https://elderofziyon.blogspot.co.il/2014/07/hamas-al-qassam-offices-are-next-to.html#.U9OS1fmSx8H
I'm not for the cheap and false propaganda. But it's a big NOTHING against Israel having the whole media in the world behind. Some stupid pro-Palestinians do their stupid propaganda, big deal. Obama does the Israeli propaganda!
If you are really worried Hamas propaganda(known as terrorists to almost everyone, including me), should I burn myself or what from worrying against the Israeli propaganda?

Btw, I'm calling those Palestinian propagandists stupid, because, the last thing they need is fake photos!

I would like you to read the following research regarding the Hamas tunnel industry. It is quite long and very informative. I would like to point out that this was published by an unbiased Arab institute. I would also like to quote a specific part:
Should I express one more time? I don't defend Hamas. They are more terrorists than fighter for Palestinians. And they are detrimental most of the time to the Palestinian case, both directly and indirectly.

Dutch, please.

When I was a kid, looking at the map, I used to think Istanbul was one of the smallest cities in Turkey. I later found out that it's one of the biggest in the world.

We are definitely not talking about the sizes of the lands.

Ppl just need to stop replying to DutchJazzer, dude is hopeless on nearly every political issue.

Don't come to me with the hope of hitting me with my nationalistic pride. I don't have it. I said it before, I don't define myself with my nationality. If Turks are wrong in something they are wrong, I don't care!

But still, if you insist, I honestly lack the knowledge about the issue.
besides,
that invasion did not kill the republic established by 1960 constitution.
there was a coup d'etat organized by the Greek cypriots (google Akritas plan) that foresaw the butchering of Turks on the island.
Turkey intervened making use of her legal right "stemming from" an international treaty.

sadly, noone cares about real events that took place.
I won't go into details but it is apples and oranges.
(google: Balfour delaration, Sykes-Picot aggreement)

Israel has the right to continue its existence and so do the Arabs of the region.
(Palestinians are actually Palestinians not Arabs BTW.)
screw Middle East, I am moving to SLC.
any job offers?

It is apples to oranges. The Turks did have every right to intervene but you have to admit partitioning the island and removing Greek Cypriots from the north wasn't part of the treaty. I could accept some sort of confederated partition or indeed full partition but Turkey did not need to expel ordinary Greek Cypriots. That was wrong.

Like I said, I haven't study this issue yet. Gosh, I'm too young and there are too many political conflicts.

But I know that, when I was 13 or so, the Greek Cypriots have rejected the Annan referendum to reunite the island, while the Turkish Cypriots have approved it. But the Greek Cypriots were still awarded with joining to the EU even though they did not fulfill many of the EU requirements.
