What's new

It’s going to be a long boring but the year the jazz need.

As long as sexton is healthy we won't be boring.

We are used to boring. It has become the hallmark of the AInge/Smith era.
No it’s not. It’s called rebuilding. What was truely boring was the last year of Mitchell and Gobert. If you’re dumb enough to think the Jazz could have a successful season the last two years then I guess it was boring to you, but if you’re pragmatic like me, you realize it’s not gonna happen and you just enjoy the rebuild. I look forward to every game that comes on.

The last year of Gobert/Mitchell was not boring at all. Was it disappointing? Yeah

To me boring is the Al Jefferson year. One, we had to watch Al Jefferson. Two, we never really had a great prospect during that time and a lot of our best players ended up being let go in favor of worse players.

Different strokes for different folks. If we are going to rebuild, do it. Dont mess around in the middle for 2 years (and now maybe 3). I still no reason to have traded both Mitchell and Gobert but I know I am alone in that perspective. BUT IF you are going to make that move, then blow it up, tank hard, and get after rebuilding. Don't wait until the trade deadline to rip the guts out of the team. This year looks like the same rodeo.

It's not for me, but I understand why some may enjoy no expectations. If there's something on the line and winning actually matters the potential is there for you to be disappointed. If all you want to do is lose, you win or you win.

Howard Beck nailed it when ranking the NBA teams for the coming year - Beck writes that the Jazz “might be the most confusing of all — a team that jettisoned its All-Stars (Rudy Gobert and Donovan Mitchell) two years ago, isn’t good enough to make the playoffs, and isn’t bad enough to nab a high draft pick.”

The quality of that journalistic piece is perfectly illustrated by him having Wizards and Nets in the top tier, while simultaneously having Blazers in the bottom tier. I mean the Nets and Wizards are there for the "virtue of tanking", yet Blazers arent there because "in hindsight they traded Dame too late". Make that make sense from the perspective of future clarity. All those three are projected to have bottom 3 records, but Blazers have more value in their current roster along with two top 6 picks already drafted. Yet their plan sucks but Nets and Wiz plan is awesome.

What a genious.

Hopefully they embrace the tank
I will enjoy watching them trot the young dudes out and losing a lot more than seeing the veterans trying to compete
