He's got a nice quick release as well. I'm on the Middleton bandwagon but not sure if his cost this offseason will be worth it to US.

He's more valuable to us than Kanter. So, honestly, just trade Kanter for him-- even if we don't end up retaining him.

Middleton needs to increase his three-point attempts. Alec Burks was almost at 40% from 3 this year-- did anyone care? No, because he was only nailing one of them a game.

I mentioned this earlier but you gotta look at his 3 point attempt rate (per FG). He takes a lot more 3s than Burks, about 33% of his FGA's are 3PA's (Burks is like 19%) so it's not really a great comparison.

And to be honest, if his problem is he just needs to shoot more 3s then that's a very good thing.

Good point-- I just don't know of too many players who have played for a couple years as an off-ball shooter before learning how to create offense, put the ball on the floor, and adopt a mid-range game in the NBA. I don't see Khris becoming Paul George anytime soon.

47% on pull-up shots this year. Better than our very own Gordon Hayward (though he takes less and probably less dificult shots, of course) but nonetheless, he has an off-the-dribble game. Maybe you should watch some more games hombre?

That's why I also asked if he's known for being a good shooter. I haven't been watching the Bucks (who has?) so I wouldn't know.

This depends on his role on the team. He might not be needed to create off the dribble.

Gordon Hayward is a good case study about how his offense creation off the dribble has evolved with his role evolving from a role player to a first option? He went from 68% assisted 2pt attempts in his rookie year, to 66% in second year, to 59%, to 40% last year and is now at 29%. That's very impressive.

Middleton's progression so far is:

63%(very few minutes, so might not be representative) in rookie year, 68% last year, 60% this year? Pretty similar to Gordon, when he's not asked to create. If you ask him to be creator for a year and he has the attributes(handle, some speed and a good feel for the game), he'd probably adjust well to that role too. But again, he might not be needed to create off the dribble...

Kanter has already shown he has the potential to be a well rounded center in this league (at least stat wise). Let me explain.

If Kanter averaged the 1.1 blocks and 0.9 steals he did his sophomore year, the 1.3 assists to 2.4 to's his junior, the 11.5 rebounds he did his freshmen year, and the scoring he does this year (all stats per 36). If he does just that he would have these stats

18.4 pts 11.5 rebounds 1.1 blocks 0.9 steals 1.3 assists and 2.4 to's per 36.

That isn't a bad stat line. If he improved every aspect of his game a little bit on top of that even better.

No way you can convince me he still doesn't have at least Zach Randolph type potential. Maybe even better.

Bro. He is like 95% an off-the-dribble player right now. Like, Hood has a better drive game than Khris right now, I'd probably say. I just don't know if Hood can ever be as accurate of a shooter

That's why we don't need to drop over 10 mill on him.

We just need him to be a consistent 3/D for this team, honestly. We have plenty of ball-handlers. We have posts.

Middleton and Tomic will fit the last two voids of this team if we pick them both up, and if Exum progresses

I'm not saying Burks is just as good of a shooter. Im just saying it hurts his game if he's such an accurate shooter, and if he isn't using that weapon enough. He's not hitting a lot more threes, grand-total. Just 0.3 more makes per game.

It's a lovely problem to have, I agree. I just don't want the Jazz to commit a bunch of salary space to this dude

Actually only 41% of his shots come from off-the-ball in catch and shoots.

The other 59% are off-the-dribble and slashing/driving to the rim.
