What's new

It's happening bros...

IF he trades him, then fine. But if the deadline comes and goes I'll have to question the logic.

Not really if a deal isn't there... losing an opportunity to develop and sway Kanter is not worth just giving him away because we have Gobert.

*Backstory to Dalamon's anger*

He picked Trevor Ariza over Jimmy Butler this year in Fantasy and I told him he would regret it. He has developed a man crush on Ariza because of this to make him forget about his terrible decision.

Butler was 100% the better pick, and the better player even outside of fantasy.

Unfortunately, you conflate fantasy effectiveness with player effectiveness. That's why you see Ariza's FG% and you immediately call him complete ***.

Tony Allen doesnt' attempt to take 7 3 pointers a game while being an awful 3 point shooter.....

Yet people actually guard Ariza on the perimeter, and contest his shots. Whereas teams in the playoffs literally ignore Allen when defending him. Memphis can't even play him as much as they want consequently.

You're getting clowned, bruh.

oh yeah-- he totally fits right in a team with no outside-shooting by bringing his lack of outside shooting.

He can break down the defense (something only Hayward can do ATM), he's a good passer and is very athletic. He also defend really well and has playoffs experience. Plus he's still developing and doesn't have a history of injuries. We can always add shooters later when needed.

Cy is right we should sign a poor man's Ariza who nails half the threes, and plays half the defense for a contract that pays 4 mill more a year.

pls list every 'available' shooter that can defend right now.

ppl have found a single one that could maybe potentially be available, and there is talks of signing him for 8 figures.

I think Ariza is good! Rockets lost Parsons and everyone in Houston thought they'd lose a step but instead only improved!!

I don't think Ariza is terrible, but the contract he's on is not looking like the bargain some thought it might be. He's a nice overall player, but if he's not hitting a good % from three he's not a game-changer. Don't see any way he's still starting anywhere by the end of that deal.

Not advocating $12mil but in a few years the entire salary thing will be so different that's it's unfair to judge $12mil today and two years from now.
