I like these. rebuild and tank tangentially.

I got all sorts of parellel and tangential last night.

Look folks, if we are tanking then the record shows it regardless of the moves we make. The record doesn't show it, hence the debate.

If we make the playoffs playing Johnny Juzang, Fon"Techya!", and Dok, then the league owes us a top 3 T-Wolves pick this year. Nuf said.

The truly hilarious part is that if the Lakers are as awful as projected there's a fantastic chance the Blazers just got 5x the value for GP2 that we got for Conley/Beasley/Vanderbilt.

But don't take my word for it. Even the Utah Jazz subreddit which is a bastion for super optimistic/homerism takes universally hates this trade.

It’s impossible basically. 7-9 is the realistic range and it’s not entirely up to us. I don’t think we will be as nefarious as other teams.

How many intentional losses would it take to inspire the Finnisher to ask to be traded is the real q.
I don't think you can discount this roster in general, despite the losses of early season starters seeming like tank moves, as being in the front offices eyes anyway. a playoff team right now ,.just because of 3 players. Finnisher, Kessler and Clarkson.
Losing one game to the Spurs might give the tank crowd some hope, but you aint gonna be happy at this point. They want to win.

That is definitely a strange post. If the jazz didn't own their pick this year then you can 100% guarantee we don't make that trade. That trade was specifically designed to get a better pick this year.

Just thinking about how to undertake the Magic, the number might be 17.

But now the Lakers are without LeBron, AD and Russell - and LeBron and AD might be out for longer. And that's just one of the teams in the same race. Also means that the final stretch might be easy wins for the Jazz.

Yep. Almost impossible now. We had to lose the raptor, pacer and thunder games to make it happen. Six is still a possibility but we would have to crash seriously hard. Most likely I think we are looking at 8 to 10 which I would still be happy with. If we would have just lost the raptor and thunder games we would be sitting perfect right now at 29 and 34.

Its even stranger when you consider he was the leader of the people whining about how ****** the trade was from a value perspective. Pretty funny stuff.

Yup, I agree with this sentiment and think it's why overall the tanking term probably shouldn't be used for Utah.

At the end of the day there hasn't been any clear tank move where getting worse was the primary motivator of the move.
