I looked up eenie-meenie, and what do you know, it's the title of a song by Bieber, who I loathe. Actually, it was the name of a character in a story I wrote about 25 years ago that was never published. Both the song and story, however, take the name from the nursery rhyme, which we all know has racist connotations, though my choice of the name has nothing to do with that, because when I was a kid, I always said "tiger by the toe." Bieber's song I see was actually written by a young black singer.
