Aren't out of bounds plays in the final 2 minutes something Hardy could've challenged if he thought there should be more time left on the clock?

They did allow Fox to basically stroll to the basket for an uncontested layup. That was on them and their total lack of defense.
It was really odd that Hardy didn’t challenge that. He can’t be that stupid, almost like there’s some wink, wink, nod, nod if the game is tight and there’s a way to lose valiantly. I notice that the talking heads seem to really be stressing how well we fight every game like we’re the greatest sub .500 team ever!

As much as I love lauri, teams are exposing him on defense.
How? What? Care to elaborate?

Dude, if Hardy thought our best option to defend Fox in iso is a 7 footer it literally means everyone else have been exposed. Lauri isnt supposed to defend Fox there.

Hardy called Markkanen on Fox and that was the only play I remember where Lauri was his primary defender. Fox waved the screen off as he wanted that matchup, and Lauris challenge at the rim was the closest anyone in our team got to stopping him in the 4th.

That same guy toyed with Conley, Clarkson and Beasley all of the 4th...

Or he was throwing in the towel with the surreptitious tank maneuver. Hardy has got to be the stupidest man alive if he really thought that Markkanen had a snowball’s chance staying in front of Fox top of the key. I would have put either Clarkson or NAW on him and also pulled KO and had Kessler in the paint. That was just way too easy for him and suspicious as hell imo.

I'm still furious about the 3 the Kings got in the 3rd quarter when the guy clearly stepped out of bounds to save the ball.

How that ref missed that is beyond me. Dude should find another profession.
Total incompetence combined with the reversal of the originally correct half court violation call on Sabonis.

No Markkanen was money against Vassell in the Spurs game at the point of attack... so Hardy probably genuinely thought he was our best option. Shouldnt be though.. I feel like Lauri made a mistake as he was never gonna outright stop him and should have forced Fox inside there as Vando was there to help. But we are getting burned by guards every game, so our primary PoA defenders are trash... NAW got stuck on screens early in the 4th while Clarkson, Beasley and Conley just got outright burned by Fox.

Olynyk help on the rim was non-existent.. so yeah if Kessler is in the challenge might have been better.

Here is the play again.. pay attention to how KO plays there:

Yeah that was a trash moment by the refs. It was so obvious.

That my friends is pi$$ poor coaching.
Bullsharts...

We have been batting WAY above average as far as finishing goes throughout the season.

Close games can go either way due to:

- Teams making adjustments
- Dumb decisions by players (aka ball - hogging and chucking in spite of instructions)
- A call here or there by refs
- A slump (which all teams go through)
- Unlucky bounces
- Matchups
- Scheduling (is back to backs, road matches, late flights, etc)

And perhaps the fact that we have no All Stars on the team other than Mike Conley who was only voted an all star replacement after an injury. Our closers are JC, Markaanen, and Beasley. But a lot of our close wins came off of shots unlikely heroes like KO, Fonteccchio, others.

Cut the team some slack.

Before the season, my wish was that we would go 0 - 70 with the losses starting by 30, then 20, then 10, then by 5 points or less on buzzer beaters. Then start winning for the last 10 games.

These are the types of games we should love. But... it sucks nonetheless.

Hard to see what Olynyk was up to on my little smartphone screen and not sure I take your point. Fox is a helluva lot quicker and more crafty than Vassell as well I imagine.
