What's new

Austin is anti-tank from what I hear. Now Austin strikes me as the type of guy that tells the boss what he wants to hear... so maybe that's a mirror thing.

We will never get the real story. I will just say the story we were fed was a pile of BS. Danny didn't know at all huh... okay. Just like when Jerry Colangelo did a search for sixers GM and the answer was Bryan Colangelo... but it wasn't Jerry's decision. I don't think it was Danny's decision per se but the lines we were fed were nonsense.
I stick by my theory that Danny did the dirty work so Austin can start with a clean slate. If you think about it Danny was always a stop gap solution and he repeatedly said he is part timing the job out of retirement.

Why didnt they wait 1 more year to hire him? Maybe there was some other team courting him during that last cycle... who knows.

Both Danny and Austin are nepo. You don't need to be blood to be a benefit of nepotism, though being blood makes it obvious

Aha! I have discovered the key for the Jazz tanking this season (or at least a guide for whether to watch the games):

Back to backs: 5-3 record; -1.3 net rating
2 days rest: 5-4 record; -3.1 net rating
3+ days rest: 3-0 record; +11.3 net rating

1 day rest: 0-17 record; -15.2 net rating

So scientifically extrapolating this to the remainder of the schedule (32 games with 1-day rest; 13 with different levels): the Jazz will end up with about 22 or 23 wins this season. Book it!

Is this real?

If so, I'll take it. 23 wins is my magic number for keeping the pick.

I guess the paet of me that enjoyed last night is the fact that the Jazz finally have that guy you can give the ball to at the end of games to get you a bucket. That was the entire reason we were tanking in the first place. We also have our volume scorer.

Niether of them came from tanking, but here we are.
Did keyonte not come from tanking? Honest question as I dont recall how we got the pick but assumed it was trading good players to get picks and a worse roster which I consider part of tanking.

To me, you've given the definition of rebuilding. Tanking can be part of rebuilding, but it's not equivalent to it. Rebuilding is much broader. (But no need to have this old argument again.)

No, Keyonte did not come from tanking. Making a trade is not tanking, as we saw, the with the players the Jazz got from the trades, they were a perfectly fine team capable of making the playoffs.
