What's new

Jaren Jackson Jr. traded to the Jazz

I feel like for $200,000,000, chips on the shoulders shouldn't be necessary.
All that money (and the perception of the resume behind it) can lead to feelings like "These ****ers still don't believe", etc. etc. Money rarely 'solves' anything entirely; in my experience, it's often better to think about how money transforms problems (yes, easing them in many instances) rather than solving them. Anywhoo...

I do think it's important to see Lauri/JJJ/Nurk together just to see how a big 3 lineup would work.
Remember we have the Kessler-KO-Lauri triple tower experiences and they went fairly well IIRC. Its a bit different now as all 3 can shoot.

But I'm fairly confident JJJ will be lost in our actions for a while before he figures it out. John Collins looked like hot garbage for like 20 games up to the point where the FO put him on the block because he was "slow to learn", but then he did figure things out and turned into a real solid contributor.

What's worse than losing four years in a row on purpose, destroying player's careers and taking all the fun out of basketball? Will someone come and spread feces on me?

It was not.

How many tanking years would have satisfied you? 6? 8? 10? 20?
Worse than 4 years of tanking would be giving up right before the payoff. Instead we had 4 years of sucking without actively tanking. Using all our capital on a second or third tier star who is not capable of being a #1 and then ending up as a team fighting to lane between play in and home court. I hope I am wrong by I am just concerned that the Jazz were not truly prepared to tank. I thought the tank was about getting a true #1 player someone who could lead the team to a championship. Chances are at least 50/50 that the Jazz are now stuck in mediocrity because when they decided to tank they put a half assed effort into it. Of the 4 years they maybe tanked 1. 4 years of tanking is what I expected. this year the Jazz won too many close games and it is going to cost us. All I am saying is finish the dang job. Don't go about it half assed. I hope I am wrong and even more I hope we win they lottery as a reward for not tanking. The NBA hates tanking and has said they Jazz did it the right way. If that is the case reward them for it. Or at least let the odds of never going up and winning a lottery draw or coin flip balance out for it this year.
