I know you think he’ll top out as a strong role player, but I still really think Ace could be the guy too if he keeps working hard.

I'm definitely curious on the follow up moves. It sounds like the Jazz want to play JJJ with a center, but a Lauri/JJJ/Ace lineup is tough from a ball handling/passing standpoint. Does Ace make more sense off the bench now?

Locke said a couple days ago that he was predicting the Jazz would experiment with Ace as the primary option in 20 of the final 30 games to gather data for coaching and summer planning. We’ll see if that’s changed after today, but I doubt it has.

I'm still processing this, but the fit is great. The only thing I really have ever hated about JJJ was his absolute garbage box outs and rebounding, but if they plan on playing him with Kessler and Lauri then who cares about his lack of rebounding. We will be huge.

Would a Keyonte/Ace/Lauri/JJJ/Kessler lineup be viable? There is only one ballhandler in that lineup.

I’m not really sold one way or the other on JJJ. That said, I think it’s fairly undeniable we acquired a real asset here. Given what we traded (and how I think we’ll still beautifully tank) which isn’t much imo, and the other dudes we got back, I think this is a major win for us.

I would have liked the Jazz to get 1 caveat from this deal. I would feel better if the Jazz got to swap the 2026 pick with the Griz (post lottery). I can see the Griz moving ahead of Utah in the Lottery
