Jaren Jackson Jr. traded to the Jazz

I don't know if anyone mentioned this but JJJ made the all star last year so he's part of the anti-rest provision by the league. Meaning, if we decide to sit him in any random game we risk accruing penalties(fines) for it.
I have not heard of this provision. Can you tell me more?

I believe he's referring to the player participation policy. There are details here:

I have mixed feelings about this trade. I would’ve loved to see Kessler, JJJ, and Lauri get an extended run together before making any decisions about Walker’s future.

On the other hand, I can’t wait to see a Key–Ace–Lauri–JJJ–Nurk lineup at some point this season. Even if JJJ is a bad rebounder for his size, the pressure that group could put on the offensive glass would be massive.

In most drafts I would agree, in this draft, I think the chance we get a great player in the top 5 is higher. And IMO we still need to find one more truly great... exceptional player. With this current team I don't think we are close to OKC or SAS or HOU or DEN... or... hell even MIN if they manage to trade for Giannis. We still would have bunch more picks we can use to either hit in the draft with or consolidate for another big trade, but... it's still very much in the air. I think this current team max'es out at about seed 6 unless there are injuries for opponents combined with relative health for us.
How can a team with 3 All star caliber players + one of the best rim protecting bigs max out at 6? What logic goes behind that? Do you have a historical precedence of some kind? Is this team actually worse than the previous Jazz team with two all-star level guys?

Also are you putting some weird hard cap on Key for no reason whatsoever and claiming he is now at his absolute peak at age 22? Kessler is also young and has a lot of room to grow (centers usually peak later).

So after the reading the details here again, I hadn't realized (because it didn't apply to us) that the provisions say you have to alternate sitting all star players. Does Lauri still count here? Will he only count before the all star game and not after?

For the record I do still think that 2031 Pheonix pick is very good. I know Phoenix is playing well this year, but they still don't have very many ways that they can really improve their team, and I don't think playing harder than everyone else is a sustainable way to win in the NBA. It also stings a little since we traded 3 firsts to get that one. I 100% understand the inability to keep all of our picks and we had to give up something good to get JJJ, but that one stings a little.

2027 first round draft pick from Utah, Cleveland or Minnesota (least favorable)
Utah will receive the two most favorable of its 2027 1st round pick, Cleveland's 2027 1st round pick and Minnesota's 2027 1st round pick and Phoenix will receive the least favorable of the three (via Cleveland and Minnesota to Utah) [Minnesota-Utah, 7/6/2022; Cleveland-Utah, 9/3/2022; Phoenix-Utah, 1/21/2025]
I was looking at RealGM picks page and they have us down as having the two most favorable 2027 picks and Phoenix having the least favorable. Assuming this is an error on their end or has the trade picks been reevaluated?

That was true until the trade (maybe the trade isn't finalized and they're looking to see if they can loop in a third team?). Now it's MEM with the most favorable, us with #2 and PHO with #3.
