I'd do that. Was never all in on getting volume over those unprotected picks. Give me 4 unprotected picks over 5-6 if there are 2-3 protected ones in there.

Ehhh… we can get protected picks in other ways… if they want to give us another I’ll take it but Quickley/Toppin 4 completely naked picks and another naked pick swap… I’m good. Then do a Westbrook deal and get a couple more. OKC got a bigger overall pile of picks but we’d have better quality picks. At some point you can end up with so many picks they lose utility/functionality. Plus you end up with 4 picks in 2023 which is a good draft supposedly and it’s at the beginning of the rebuild… landing a couple building blocks in year 1 would really boost the rebuild. If they draft is still viewed as really good on draft night you could flip a late first for a couple picks in other drafts if you think that’s too many picks in one year.

I know Danny is going for the throat but records and squeezing every last ounce of value out of a deal can backfire. I think it’s a great representation of what I’d want and think it’s totally fair.

Management: hey Spida, so sorry we haven’t traded you yet, those idiots in NY seem to have the miss guided idea they have all the leverage and are lowballing us and if we were in charge we would’ve taken their first ****** offer, but as you know Trader Dan is running the show now. You know how stubborn he can be, right… (jabs Mitchell playfully)

Mitchell: (smirks and nods) ehh whatever, I’m in no hurry. I’m sure Danny will rip out their spine sooner or later, sooooo… what’s up guys?

Management: shows an image of the New Jersey. Soooooo… what do you think of these? (Zanik winces as he asks the question bracing for negative Nancy)

Spida: (thinking to himself, man these are ***!! But I can’t say that my agent wants me to be less negative and not hurt my brand)… ummmm (in a somewhat sarcastic tone) those are sharp, looking good!! (thinking to himself again, ah what the hell Danny will have me out of here by the trade deadline anyways)

Zanik: yyyou ddo?? Well tttthen ummm catch ya later, aaaaand sssso glad yyou’re still here Spida!

Spida: (as he’s walking away thinking to himself) IDIOTS!!

Zanik: no wonder Danny wants to trade him, such an idiot!!
