Jazz and Knicks discussing Donovan Mitchell trade per Shams Charania and Tony Jones

I think he's good but he's also a guy that fits best with a shooting 5 or at least another big that can shoot it. On our team I'm not sure his play will look as impressive as it did in Minny. Cheap deal and productive player. He might net a protected first on his own. I think he is the hinge piece in getting both Lakers picks.

If you can get both without him then go for it and keep him.
He'll look marvelous. He will likely be our starting center And pull down offensive rebound after offensive rebound if we end up trading away our shooters.

Even when you are tanking you need to keep people that can actually play basketball and do the unappreciated things. If you just throw out a collection of young athletes you will never get a sense of who can actually play or who just dunks cool.

His warts will be more prominent playing next to a non shooting center or being an undersized center.

We likely start the season with Mike, JC, Fournier, Toppin, Quickley... it will be bad but not so bad you can't evaluate things. Fontecchio looks like he could be a nice find too. We will be fine.

If we can keep Vando and get both Lakers picks I'm super cool keeping him... until we can get a first for him at least.

This what I been sayin... we also have Vando who is cheap AF if that is what seals the deal.

Pretty crazy if we flip the Minny parts for an unprotected pick (Count the other one as coming from Bogey) from the Lakers after getting 4 and a swap from Minny. Good hell... if Kessler is good people gonna cry so much.
The extra pick is for taking Westbrooks contract. Lakers aren't going to keep him around this year. He has to be traded.

I think we have better pieces to trade for the Lakers pick than the pacers. They don't need a top shelf center. The could pick up Whiteside. AD is their center in the playoffs.

Prolly... I'm fine with it. He's good and he's cheap, but he's a role player and we aren't really tryin to win nothin.
Something I'm thinking about though, at the end of the tank after the Jazz FO has hopefully drafted at least three of our future starting line-up and at least one of them seems like a legit top tier prospect, these good players/solid supporting cast players are exactly what could get packaged up and traded to fill out the rest of our rotation. You've got to have actual tradable players in addition to just having picks once you switch to compete mode from tank mode.

Sure… but Vando isn’t like irreplaceable and he will be expensive when we flip the switch. I think he’s a 20-25 minute per night guy unless you have a legit shooting big.
