Jazz and Knicks discussing Donovan Mitchell trade per Shams Charania and Tony Jones

He said “or”.

They also traded us the dude that - and yes I am serious - might have been the culture-changer that made them competitive.

Thank you. I really don’t see how egregious it is to say if one of their two best players went down they’d be a play-in team after they traded us all of their depth. They were a play-in team last year.

Also that Austin Hornton thing just confirms how ugly the whole Covid situation was with Gobert/Mitchell.

Gobert got thrown the **** under the bus, run over, and reversed on, just so Mitchell could have some reason for a ****ing grievance. Pathetic ****.
The whole org deserves a dunce there too. But yeah... pretty ******.

Lol you really touting Russell right now? We’d have Conley plus I suspect we’d have done something with our MLE.
Not a huge Russell fan tbh, but he is probably better than Conley next year. In year's past I would obviously take Conley. Every guard on that team is getting a huge Gobert bump. Gobert is going to be a god-send for Russell.

I hated Russell in Utah because I thought he would be too bad defensively next to Mitchell, but next to Edwards it isnt as bad and he has improved. Plus it's a contract year. And like I said, Russell likes to play his PNR game slower than Mitchell/Conley, which should work well with Gobert.

The hate on Russell has went way too overboard. He is a pretty good player and he will be playing with a rim-runner for the first time since JA in Brooklyn.

Also Russell is a ****** defender on-ball but he has found a niche as an off-ball under Finch and Gobert is going to free him up more on defense.

Gobert got done dirty for all of that and one day I hope Donovan feels any shame for it.

I don’t really think so. We disrespected Hayward by not paying him what he was worth and making him go get an offer sheet from Charlotte.
Which is what literally every team in the NBA would have done in the same situation. He was a borderline all-star, not a perennial all-star with all-NBA potential. He had the potential to be a solid #3 on a competitive team. Nothing the team did was out of the ordinary.

Now, did they botch the communication and not work with his camp to understand what they were doing and why? That is another question.

it has been pretty obvious mitchell wanted to go to new york, he always talks about how awesome the knicks arena is and spends like all his time up there. his fam is there and thats where he wants to be. I'd fleece the knicks. Get it done.

he's a good player and is only going to get better. I think hes mentally weak, but I can see him getting even better. The jazz need all the knicks picks. not half...ALL.

Here is this morning's update from the IceColdCubano. As always, take it with a grain of salt...

Alright boys, sauces came early today!!! Hot of the presses...

1. Utah/Donovan - Miami gave their best offer yesterday during the presentation in the afternoon. They will not be leveraged anymore to one up New York's current proposal. A couple of things, my boy was actually able to scan through the actual power point presentation and was impressed. It was tailored made to showcase Herro, on the benefits to their team, contractually based on his projections vs cost, actually had algorithms and analytics based on social media impacts on his fanbase, etc, essentially some sort of algorithms of what players pulls more fans than others, kinda cool to know the team is that in depth. The team feels there is interest there for Herro from Ainge, however he is asking for way too much. In fact based on conversation with New Yorks GM, their offer is still off even though they are in the lead from anybody else on picks. Miami feels like Ainge might hold New York hostage and let this ride into the season hope they get desperate and offload everything they have to make a mid season trade. Miami is walking away at the moment unless Utah comes back and shows more interest in getting Miami back into the fold.

I remember when only players that were defending him were non-Jazz. He ****ed up big time but that must have sucked to go through that with no support.
