What's new

Jazz are going to win 60 games this year.

Not going to happen without a better PG rotation. Mo does OK but misses a lot of easy passes that a true PG would make. Tinsley is a good passer but old, slow and not a good shooter. Watson Cant shoot and forces the ball to much, Foye is not a good PG, he cant even run the break 4 on 1 and get a good shot out of it.

Jazz also are going to struggle against pressure Defense. Our ball handling is a little suspect.

And of course Corbin is still going to play Millsap and Jefferson in the front court together and Defensively we are going to get killed with them out there together.

Name a few teams minus the lakers that had a great point gaurd that won the nba championship.... i am talking alstar PG.... there really arent any. yes you need a good fasilitator that can pass and shoot. but thats really it. there has really never been an alstar point gaurd on a championship team... "just Saying" but you can prove me worng if you all would like... magic is an exception.. the dude was like a SF playing a PG.

*more often then not the alstar is a 2 3 4 or 5...

I think we are just so accustomed to seeing a point guard ran offense here that we dont know any different. Its hard for people around here to picture a winning team without one.

i cant think of any.... bu the closest i can think of is maybe the pistons the first year they went the the NBA finals

I was lookign at the 2004 Pistons but Walalce was an allstar that year.

was he the year before though?... or was that his first alstar appearence?... if it was his first then going into 2004 i guess he would of been considered an almost allstar. lol

Fringe all-stars? WTF is that?? please show me team like that which won 60 games.

Even if we only win 57-58-59, thats still basically 60 wins

Ya, we have a bunch of guys who could be all-stars if it weren't a media bias.

Al
Millsap
Burks
Hayward
Kanter
Favors
Mo
Marvin

Those guys are all basically all-stars

And Corbin who should have won coach of the year last year

3 All star PG's that lead there team to a title off the top of my head other than Magic. Chauncy Billups. (finals MVP and All Star), Tony Parker (Finals MVP and All Star), Isiah Thomas (Finals MVP and All Star). I am sure there are other I am forgetting, this was just off the top of my head.

I don't feel that PG is the biggest problem. The biggest problem is our defense with Al and Millsap in the front court together. And not having a superstar of course

We have a bad *** team this year. I dont see why we can't win a lot of games this year.

Looking at our team, you can see we have incredible balance and no weaknesses as a unit. Individually yes, you could pick guys a part. But this is team game. Judge it by its sum and not its parts.

= 60 WINS and a trip to the Western Conference Finals

Questions?

I totally agree. 60 or more wins and at least conference finals. This team is way better than they're given credit for.

I'd be overjoyed with 50, but whatever floats your boat.

Good analogy.

Our team is like a boat

Corbin is the captain
The players are like sailors.

With Bell and Howard we were sinking. It was too much dead weight. Now we can sail the sevens seas with no problems. 60 wins is a trip around the world. Time to set sail is coming up.

Questions?

The jazz have only hit 60 wins 3 times in their entire history, 2 of which were finals years and all three were when had a top-5-in-the-nba player (Karl, 1st team all NBA all 3 times), and a top-10-in-the-nba player (John, 1st and 2nd all nba team member) running the show.

This team hasn't even taken its training wheels off yet. Not saying I'm not expecting great things from this team but 60 wins is a LOFTY goal IMO

Who's that?

Ya, and John and Karl were all we had. Hornacek was limping around, and the rest were a bunch of scrubs.

If that team had the bench and depth we have now. We would have won 60+ every year.

Our bench is going to win us a lot of games this year.
