Good analogy.

Our team is like a boat

Corbin is the captain
The players are like sailors.

With Bell and Howard we were sinking. It was too much dead weight. Now we can sail the sevens seas with no problems. 60 wins is a trip around the world. Time to set sail is coming up.

The jazz have only hit 60 wins 3 times in their entire history, 2 of which were finals years and all three were when had a top-5-in-the-nba player (Karl, 1st team all NBA all 3 times), and a top-10-in-the-nba player (John, 1st and 2nd all nba team member) running the show.

This team hasn't even taken its training wheels off yet. Not saying I'm not expecting great things from this team but 60 wins is a LOFTY goal IMO

Ya, and John and Karl were all we had. Hornacek was limping around, and the rest were a bunch of scrubs.

If that team had the bench and depth we have now. We would have won 60+ every year.

Our bench is going to win us a lot of games this year.

I'll play Devil's advocate as to why we'll win more like 50 games, rather than 60...

Al Jefferson - Check
A bunch of guys with terrible career assists per game numbers - Check
Tyrone Corbin - Check
Mid-range shooting (not sure who you think the great mid-range guys for us are) - Check
Average wings at best - Check
No "it" guy for the closing seconds/minutes to take a game over - Check
A very tough Western conference and division - Check
Injury regression to the mean in affect - Check
Mediocre at best road play - Check
Al Jefferson - Check

Haha. Dwight Howard isnt over hyped. And you and everyone else would take him on your team in a heartbeat. Dont hate.
 
Our early schedule is brutal. If we start off hot, and stay injury free then this is possible,
A lot of things must fall into place.

Reguardless of where we finish there is one thing that is for sure. We'll be fun to watch. Most interesting roster maybe ever.
We have so many high draft picks, and developing players. Even our scrubs like Evans can make amazing highlights.

I could see a scenario where a lot of things go our way, and we finish top 4 in the West.....but I don't expect that.
I think this team will finish 6 or 7, and make it to the second round.

If we finish 6th or 7th, we're almost certainly playing OKC, LA, or the Spurs, and we have zero chance of beating any of those teams. We'd have to pray we faced the Clips or something.
 
We're not winning 60 games and I'm just entering my annual delusional period about our chances. But we will make the playoffs, and then anything can happen. That's all the excitement I need for now.

What if we get a higher seeding and then they have to face us? We will beat them then.
