Jazz are undefeated when Hill and Hayward both play

When Hill is on the court Hayward averages 22.4/6.5/2.2 on 57.5 TS%. His averages when Hill is off are on 19.7/7.5/4.2 52.4 TS%. He's taking 1.5 shots more when Hill is off but scoring 2.7 points less. Net Rating goes from 23.0 when they're both on to 6.7 when Hayward's on but Hill's off.

When Hayward is on the court Hill averages 24.1/4.4/4.8 on 77.6 TS%. His averages when Hayward is off are on 19.6/2.9/4.0 64.2 TS%. Hill is shooting 15/20 from two and 7/14 from three when Hayward is also on the court. Net Rating goes from 23.0 when they're both on to 6.7 when Hill's on but Hayward's off.

I may have written those stats in a confusing manner, but when they're both on the court, they make each other and the team soo much better.

Thanks. Where did you get the stats from? And what is Net Rating?

Yeah; according to 82games.com, the lineup of G.Hill-Hood-Hayward-Favors-Gobert has played a grand total of 12.4 minutes together. It has a win% of 100%, though. :-)

Recently read somewhere that the Jazz did not have a single lineup that had played more than 50 minutes together so far. That was 1-2 games ago so it might have changed by now but still.

Well the schedule is home heavy through the end of December. Team is mostly healthy so now is the time for Utah to make a push and wrack up a bunch of wins. Push into the top 4.

I got them all from nba.com/stats

Net Rating is derived from Offensive Rating (aka Offensive Efficiency) and Defensive Rating (Defensive Efficiency), which is how many points a team scores every 100 possessions and allows per 100 possessions. The Net is the ORtg subtracting the DRtg or how many points we outscore the opponent by through 100 possessions.

Jazz are currently 5th in Net Rating, and no top five team in Net Rating has ever won less than 50 games.

To go along with this; here's everyone's ORtg's DRtg's (AKA efficiency) and Pace from ESPN. Pace is simply the average amounts of possessions per game, so if you take a team's ORtg and multiply it by the pace over 100, you should get their PPG average.

You can find a lot more cool stats on NBA.com/stats too. Like the fact that George Hill is tied for 23rd in the league at 2.9 deflections per game, or that Rudy Gobert is 13th in the league at 12.3 contested shots per game

Right when this thread was about to pick up some major steam...George Hill is out tonight. [insert slaming head against a wall emoticon, that isn't available on this site]
