There are obviously fans who only watch the results but are completely unaware of everything leading up to the result of a made or missed shot, a turnover, a missed defensive rebound, etc.

Pretty much all of Reddit aka 15 yr old armchair NBA box score know-it-alls.

Can someone give me a synopsis of what transpired last night? I didn't watch the game.

That said, a couple random thoughts.

1) Hayward's box score blew and he seems to have gone back into his shell the last four games or so. He needs to call Kobe.
2) I thought this may happen. All our recent press and hot streak coming into this sans Hill and Favors (don't even count Burks) and having not gotten blown out in a long time (all year?) concerned me. Thought we were due to **** the bed.
3) This may be a good thing to show us beating them or any elite team is super hard and in the playoffs we need to bring it every night.
4) I should never make another game thread. In my defense, how the **** had no one else made one when it was just 4.5 hours before game time.

To max or not to max Hayward is quite the conundrum for me right now.

Will be interesting to see how the season plays out when hill is out there with hayward.

We are damned if we do damned if we dont. More damned if we dont resign him. We have to max Hayward and hope he progresses through the season, and beyond.
Although hes no Batman, hes one hell of a Robin. We cant afford to lose his numbers. Unless they have someone else, as a good plan B, we must
bite the bullet and shovel a bunch of money to the guys house.

I think you are right.

Good news is that Hayward had a big stretch of games this year that had me feeling happy to max him. So that gives me hope. Maybe it was just a hot streak and fools gold.... Maybe a legit pg will really make all the difference and totally elevate his game.

Need to get this team healthy and find out.

Hayward should legit seek out the shrink that John Smoltz used. Smoltzy, early in his career, was a headcase. He saw this sports psychiatrist and became of the most focused, big game pitchers ever. He may even saw the dude his whole career. Not sure.

The thing with Hayward is that he can be a true #1 option, which he has proved this season, but he needs a solid 2nd and 3rd option beside him to be effective.

He's an excellent shot creator and playmaker, and he's elite at getting to the free throw line. That's a first option.

These days, a good second option is an efficient shooter that can take pressure off of the #1 guy while also being able to put the ball on the floor. Some nights, Rodney Hood is that. But he's inconsistent, so he's not quite there yet.

I think Hill is that guy. He takes pressure off of Hayward and makes sure that the defense isn't just keying in on Hayward. He can make defenses pay when they pay too much attention to Hayward. Mack and Exum don't do that.

We'll be fine. Hayward will be fine. And once we get Hill back and rolling, Hayward will be back to that 22-25 point a night guy.

Plus we already have our Batman (Gobert) and another Robin (Hill). This team will get healthy and start tearing up the league.

I really think quite the opposite of "we're dammed if we do, damned if we don't resign Hayward".. I'm not apt to have that cornered/back to the wall mindset, but still I think it's just overstating things... I don't think it's an accurate assessment. I think this roster has much more wiggle room than some are crediting it for.

I feel like I could figure the moves to damage control the loss of Hayward.. so I'm sure they've got all sorts of scenarios in mind for if he walks..

Exum might be the only player in the league that could pull it off.
It seems you would have to be intentionally avoiding the ball and contact to not get a single rebound, free throw, assist or anything.
