Jazz at Pissers: 5pm MT on NBALP, ROOT, KNS

This team has no heart or guts. Simple as that. The idea that they could get out of the first round, regardless of the match-up or HCA situation is at this point preposterous. On the evidence of this thread, we care a lot more than the players do.

Pfff... This team is still young, and gets confused easily. It's not a matter of heart or guts, it's a matter of calm and experience, because we have talent but not so much more than the others that it could compensate for mistakes.

This loss is on....

Dennis O'Lindsey--If he would have drafted Otis Porter instead of Lyles the Jazz would have a back-up pf.

Otto Porter the SF who was taken 3rd in the 2013 draft? Or maybe you mean Bobby Portis? Who is the PF for the Bulls that had hands down the best games of his career against the Jazz so you might be a little high on him but has been averaging less points per game than Lyles and shoots a worse 3 point percentage this year. Lyles and Portis are the same age and Portis has done very little better than Lyles so far. You should probably wish we had drafted Booker and kept our PF Booker or picked up another back up PF.

So Teague won the battle against Hill?

In this game it was pretty even. Teague did take advantage of the double team on George and had some wide open shots as well as taking advantage of Neto's defense and when Withey was protecting the rim. Hill shot poorly from 3 other than that he outplayed Teague in every other way. Across the season Hill is a much better 3 point shooter than Teague.

I watched the full highlights and kind of liked the way we played overall. IND played hard and were lucky.
George Hill on a downhill since a while, 0/7 from 3?
Props to Ingles for bringing it every night, dude is a keeper.

And thinking long term, this game underlined one fact: Hayward&Gobert is a monster duo. We've got our two stars, folks. All we need is another one, and earlier in the season we thought Hill was that. But he disappears, doesn't he? This is what the Pacers fans told me about his superb beginning in Utah: "he's really good, just wait a bit, he'll disappear. " I have faith in him, he's got a big contract (not from UTA) to play for anyway, so he'll likely pull it together. But WE NEED EXUM to develop into that 3rd star which may or may not happen. It was a gamble to draft him, and it still is after 3 years.

Favors. His prolonged absence has forced his teammates to play bigger roles than they are capable. Joe Johnson is tired of playing the 4.

Dennis O'Lindsey--If he would have drafted Otis Porter instead of Lyles the Jazz would have a back-up pf.

Gordon Hayward--Dude only scored 38 points when he should have scored 46.

Rodney Hood and Alec Burks--I think they are Mr. Glass and his sidekick, only trouble is I can't tell which one is which.

Burks isn't deserving of mention, I'd contend he played well enough to win... he was in the game drawing the attention of the defense, George Hill probably got his easiest hoop of the night(in the 4th) because Burks spoon-fed him one. QS subbed him out of the game and immediately Jeff Teague went right at hood, beat him to the rack and then finished the and-1. the lead was only 6 points before that and they never were in striking distance again.

I've long said Burks is a closer.. To me not having him in the game to close was costly in this one.. That role has been handed to JJ and he didn't come up big this time.

Does anyone else sorta get the feeling that sometimes when Hayward fades away he's sort of testing in a way the vets or the supporting cast Utah has?

It almost seems that way to me.. Why was he nowhere to be found early in the 4th..

Certainly the vets the Jazz brought in this offseason haven't been able to get the job done the last few L's...

George Hills stats/%'s are starting to regress to the mean a bit.. If you really look at Hill's stats he's shot it from 3 lights out in November and February.. Definitely more streaky than It might seem just watching the games.

Seems very clear to me that part of his efficiency is due to a hot start and limited volume(minutes)

Joe Johnson with 22points on 31 FGA's in the last 3 L's... what do you want for 11MM per season?!?

Can someone please remind me how much better Johnson and Diaw are than Harrison "MIP" Barnes??

No, but I can remind you how much more Barnes makes, how it would **** our cap/LT situation going forward and how Barnes is so good that the Mavs may not make the playoffs.

Well then remind me don't just talk about it.

Present the math which supports your statements please. Til then I'm calling BS on ya.

Lemme remind ya -- You're in this thread just a few pages back talking about moving Rodney to the bench and signing Redick to start..

My plan with Barnes was to start him at the 3 and move Hayward to the 2 and bring Hood off the bench.. (obviously with all the injuries Barnes would've gotten like 40 starts at PF)
