Hakeem is definitely the best center in this matchup (and maybe even in this competition), and while I don't have a true C on my roster, I'm treating that as a strength. Since both Duncan and Malone are good shooters from mid-range, some of the best with fundamentals, great passers, and great screeners, I will be attacking a lot with backdoor cuts and hi/low action. Add that to my shooting core and my spacing is going to be great, which will allow my team to get high percentage shots (either open 3s or quick paint points).

I have no particular concerns being overpowered in the post by Hakeem since he wasn't regarded as much for his power but his intelligence and finesse and my starting bigs are all-world defenders in every situation you can ask. I believe I can also send double teams with some success since I don't feel getting hurt from deep would be a huge problem (though I'd obviously have to AT LEAST stay home on Nash and Durant).

Fortunately for me, I have an unusually large starting PG that was an excellent defender to matchup with Magic so I don't necessarily have to play anyone out of position to guard him. Since Lebron is my backup PG he should be able to cover Magic (and Nash) as well.

This isn't (just?) an attempt at chest thumping, just adding the angle I'd approach with this game strategically, and revealing some basic philosophies that are central to my team-build (spacing, versatility, fundamentals, sharing the ball, interior defense).
 
If you had 00's Duncan, I might give Numberica the edge. The trio of Magic,Durant, and Hakeem is too strong though.
 
Hakeem and Magic playing together would have been amazing. Either of them could have a triple double any day of the week.
 
In what ways did Duncan really improve on in the 2000's? Some of his stats went up, but so did his usage rate and as Robinson was phased out he got more minutes closer to the basket. From the second he came into the league he was one of the best bigs in the NBA.
 
I have to go with Prodigy on this one, but it would definitely be a fun matchup.
I guess I give the edge to the playmakers and players with Prodigy over the shooters and players with Numberica.
 
Both teams are awesome.

However I think that James and Malone tend to choke in big moments and a team of Hakeem and Magic with Durant slashing and hitting shots would be too much.

This. If you were going to pick a series to watch - this would be it in terms of how competitive and well-played the games would be. So many great matchups: LeBron vs Durant, Hakeem vs Duncan, Hayes vs Malone, Magic&Nash vs Walt Frazier, Big Al vs Boozer (well atleast for Jazzfanz). I keep going back-and-forth on this one...might take a few days for me to decide.
 
This was very tough but ultimately it came down to what I see as a greater winning spirit on prodigy's team with Magic, Hakeem, and Hayes. We can say Duncan and Allen have won titles (and Frazier too) but I always saw that as the result of a great team game that was predicated on such in order to succeed rather than dominant individuals who knew how to win and could carry a team on their shoulders within the framework of a team.

And Hayes...kid was a stud...28.4 points and 17.2 rebounds per game...as a rookie!!! Led them to three titles appearances one of which resulted in a ring.
