Gives the Warriors a starting center with high potential at the (practically) the same dollar figure that Iggy was on this past year. It's probably just a year rental for Favors, but helps cement their defensive dominance for another title run.

You might be right, but you'd also trade Rudy, which I think would be a huge mistake. Utah had a chance for a quick rebuild during the lockout year, and completely blew it. However, it's pretty rare to rebuild quickly with a total teardown, and I don't see the opportunity right now that would be a sure thing. A total teardown could turn into a 5-6 year rebuild or longer.

I was extremely vocal about rebuilding back when KOC blew it the year before we drafted Trey burke, but I don't see that obvious choice here like you do. Losing Hill and Hayward will hurt, but I think we might still be able to put together a team that could win a first round series, and regardless of what we do, we're not likely winning it all anyway, so I don't think making the playoffs again with a chance to get to the 2nd round is a waste.

If you look at it that way, everybody might as well tear it down and rebuild to compete after the Warriors/Cavs domination runs out.

No, my latest plan doesn't involve trading Rudy. It's blitz-rebuild around Rudy and with his knowledge and understanding. In essence - 1 tank year, but the motherload of tanks. Similar to how SAS got Duncan. Trade all the vets(players on non-rookie deals) for future assets. Give a ton of playing time and development time to all our young players and rookies, etc. I've outlined the plan before... you get what I mean, right?

If we can take Iggy so that GS can't replace him, that is what we want. Imagine their core 4 without Iggy. That's a gaping hole.

I understand you're trying to get us Iggy without losing Hayward and Hill, but I just don't see that being possible. GS wouldn't want to help anybody get Iggy and that's pretty darn complicated to S&T a player like that while trying to re-sign Curry. I'm not sure of all the S&T rules either.

I hadn't realized you back tracked on trading Rudy. I do get what you mean, and it's certainly something to consider if we lose our players and don't have a solid plan B. However, like I said, I don't see any guarantee of a quick rebuild. It could easily turn into a plan that gets stretched for years. It's too bad we don't have someone else's protected pick, or I'd probably be on board with a tank.

Anyway, I'll probably hop on your train if DL doesn't have a good plan B, I'm just not ready to assume that losing Hayward means it's over. I mean, losing BOTH Hill and Hayward is pretty bad, but what if we somehow retained Hill even after losing Hayward? I just think there are still possibilities before we assume a tank is the only way to go.

This would deflate some of the buzz that was generated locally by the success the Jazz had last season. I wonder if this is something DL would be thinking about.

They max Curry. They realize they are losing Igoudala no matter what so they call teams who might want Iggy, but dont have the cap-space to sign him outright at his desired asking price. Utah is one of those teams. Iggy agrees he wants to go to Utah. They figure out the price. In return the Warriors upgrade their center position with Favors. Win-win for both teams.

I dont think the Warriors would really care about helping Utah, their ego is big enough to where they probably would enjoy the challenge of facing Utah with him. Hell it would be paying back a favor because Utah is the team that facilitated Iggy going to the Warriors in the first place.

I mean... depending on the return you might have to consider trading Rudy too... you won't be trading him just to trade him... but I think it will be too much of a hit on the fans IMO so it's probably not realistic to think about trading Rudy... It would have to be a truly no-brainer type trade with huge value coming our way... Hill pretty much said he's gone if Hayward is gone at exit interviews(My decision is heavily influenced by what Gordon does). BTW I think if we lose Hayward, we should NOT even be giving Hill big money. In general I don't see the point. It feels like it will hurt us more than help us going forward. Of course if he wants to sign a team-friendly contract, then you do it and you figure it out later because this contract will have value on the trade market if you decide to break it up at some point in the future. But if you lose Hayward and allocate all the money to Hill just so you won't lose him too and give him max'ish contract, I think this is another development that will be devastating for the Jazz.

You wouldn't start Igoudala. You'd want to use him like GSW does. Starting at PF would wear him down quickly. If you are committing a 3 year deal to him, you have to make some effort to preserve his body.

Obviously all this is just like ... our opinions.. man, but, I have issues with some of the things being said.

Whoever said Iggy can shoot 3's?? Well okay he can shoot them but he doesn't make them at a high clip.

I am also under the belief that Fav's is a better player at this point in their careers and if you gift him to GSW than you deserve what you get, which is to say that GSW would become even more dominate and killing the Jazz even more than they already do now. Hell the Jazz helped facilitate the trade for GSW to get Iggy and if the Jazz gave up Favs to get Iggy they would've paid a higher price for him than what GSW paid to get him when he was a better player.

I would absolutely be pissed if the Jazz gave up Favs to acquire Iggy.

I agree, but if he's leaving GS, he's looking for money, playing time and I would imagine a starting spot. I would start him but only play him 24-30mpg. I would also give him limited minutes on back to back nights.
