What's new

Jazz Free Agency Summer of 2018

They need 1s and 3s. They have wayyy too many 2s.

If Sac wants to give us Temple for Burks, I'm in on that.

Yeah someone said they are out on Jabari, but the Lavine interest there is weird. He's not a pg imo... much more of a 2.

Sac needs Temple they'd be dumb to make that swap but I would do it in a second too. Temple is an adult... they need leadership there and he has been pretty vocal about liking Sacramento (unlike George Hill).

I think Memphis would have some interest in AB, but not a lot in the cupboard that makes sense for a swap. New Orleans prolly would too, but not a lot I would want to take back. Maybe Orlando and Chicago. If there were a few more teams with cap space I think we could have done an AB plus second rounders for space like Denver did, but space was too valuable this year.

No one wants Burks. We're not getting even a 2nd. Why all the concern over dumping him now ? Jazz dont need his roster spot. And they're not in the tax.

What about seeing who's available at the deadline? Then Burks' expiring is actually an asset.

Not to mention if we have an injury he can fill in and might play well for us... no use in moving him now and his contract is the right size if a big move comes along.

When you look at the rotation and minutes when healthy I think you have the following:

Ricky 30-32 minutes a night
DM 36 min
Ingles 30
Favs 28
Rudy 36
Exum 20-24
Royce 20
Crowder 20-24
Thabo 8-12

With AB, Neto, Udoh, Bradley, Allen all out of the rotation... Jonas too if he is kept. I don't see why we'd keep Jonas at his number vs. going out and signing Niang to a minimum deal or seeing what happens during the waiver period. Also, no need to go out an use the MLE to get someone.

Jazz are gonna use that MLE on Niang. All of it.

Does Patrick Mccaw suck... haven't heard of a team interested in him... seems like someone would at least make GS pay some additional tax.

Thankfully, I think the Jazz are a lot higher on AB than a lot of posters on here. Wouldn't be surprised if he's back after his contract expires. At maybe a little less than what he was at. He looked pretty close to pre injury AB to me at the end of season.

Jazz could have realistically 60m in caproom next offseason. Holy ****. That's not taking into account any extensions though.

I think it’s more like 40-41 unless they move crowder and Exum...

Either way we have a **** ton of flexibility to do something.

Think my math got funky somewhere, but that's about right, sorry. The Jazz have guarantees to Gobert, Ingles, Exum, Crowder, and Allen next year. We absolutely do NOT cut Mitchell and Royce. We're at 61.7, assuming we cut others and don't re-up everything else, so I've have that as a bout 46m. The issue we're going to run into is cap holds, which I don't even want to think about.

We just need to be able to get to around 35M in a reasonable fashion (unless we make an acquisition this season). We just need one max spot if someone says yes.
