You can never have too many offensive creators and playmakers. Especially when both of them can play off-ball too.

lillard/mitchell/gobert line up is legit. will contend with this
As a side note, Dante Exum may be the only young player with upside that the Jazz might be willing and able to include in a trade for a star player in the near future. It was important for the Jazz to retain Exum in free agency on a long enough deal that he can mature as a trade asset within the next year or two. If Exum really breaks out this year, teams like Minnesota or Cleveland might be willing to take back Exum (along with another player and a future pick) in a deal for Love, Butler, etc.
So the Jazz have two bets here: 1) that Exum becomes an integral piece for the Jazz, or 2) that Exum becomes a valuable trade chip that helps land a 3rd star to go along with Mitchell and Gobert.

If we could move Ricky and change for Lillard that is a no-brainer. Mitchell-Lillard back-court is instantly a top 3 back-court in the league. Might be enough to push us over the top, or get us damn close.
Kinda like Harden and Chris Paul right?

Lillard only plays one end of the floor. He's small, and just gets killed on switches. And while he's efficient on offense, it's not enough to make up for his deficiencies on defense.
His size and lack of defense, specifically defending switches is why playoff basketball will be difficult for him. Of course not all on him, but its part of why Jrue looked like a 1st ballot HOFer in dealing the higher seed Blazers and Lillard a 1st rd loss.
Lillard doesn't fit will here. He plays 0 defense and dominates the ball.
Rubio isn't the scorer Lillard is but he is a much better defender and facilitator.
Lillard is probably an upgrade to Rubio but not by much. Plus if you factor in chemistry it could be worse.

A lot of skepticism when Chris Paul joined Harden, but they were this close to beating the Warriors.
Not saying we should trade for Lillard, but if he wants to join us in FA, we've gotta go get him.

Well said, I thought he had a shorter leash than he deserved this year. He has lapses and needs to keep focus but let's be honest, they all had their moments this year.
If you have a chance to add a star player, you have to do it. I think Lillard would be a great fit on this team. He and Mitchell would pretty much be interchangeable on both ends. We would have by far the best backcourt in the league.
