Did you even read my post? WHERE were those shots taken? That was my beef with CJ tonight.



Poor execution and shooting against the zone led to Sactown's fast breaks.

I get it, it was a W. But that's not as important as the WAY you play. Our frontline not getting to the FT line is concerning, how is it not? CJ playing mostly on the perimeter is concerning, how is it not? Lack of execution and shooting in the 4th, how is this not concerning?

I for one expect more. I remember when we missed out on the playoffs during the 03-04 season. The thing is, we were playing the right way. Played hard, executed to the best of our abilities, shared the ball around, and played tough D.

This team is so inconsistent. they play up and down to the level of their competition.

If this were a home game, against a team that hasn't been on a tear for the last 3 games (in other words, the SAME ol Kings), then I would agree with you... But this team has been averaging 118 points a game the last 3 games and we held them to 102, and beat them on their home court...

I don't care how ugly they are... Road wins are at a premium for me.... I'll take them any way I can get them...

I find it amusing that everytime you two repeat this argument, you never talk about losing a valuble asset, that could be a critical building block in building this team. You always talk about how this team doesn't need any more youth, which really isn't true anyway, and isn't the only possibilty in how the team utilizes the asset. Adding one or two more pieces to develop with our core would be great, and the sooner the better if we're gonna do it. It's not like we can't afford to lose a spot to CJ/Bell/Howard/Carrol to make room. Or we could package the picks with a vet for a star player. Lots of possibilities, and yet you guys stick to the same old line.

By the end of this season, this team will be who they are, regardless of whether the can extend the season by 4-5 games. If they could somehow put themselves in a position to get to the second round, then I'm sold on the playoff experience being worth the loss of an asset. But if you want this team to squeak into a 7th or 8th seed, only to get their asses handed to them for 4-5 games, then I must say you don't have a clue as to the kind of value an 8-9 pick in this draft would represent to this team.

After watching our meltdown in the 4th quarter against the kings, I see nothing to indicate that we aren't still a bad road team, and likely nothing more than an easy 1st round exit.

#1. There is a reason I don't talk very often about the options that represent next season. I am very much rooting for success in the current season. I have said and will stand by the position that it is Corbin whose season is most important. What I wanted to find out was who Corbin is and if he can take this group and make them into a team. IMO there is no question Corbin has done what he was hired to do, which is make a team out of a bunch of guys shellshocked by the departure of Sloan.

The fans that are into tanking cannot see this. This Utah team was hit very hard by the departure of Sloan. There was nothing in the NBA like him. Corbin is doing his best to make this team into a machine like his coach did. It won't be easy but he is in a great position having so much talent to help him. I don't think I have ever seen a NBA situation like Utah's. Jefferson is working hard on Kanter and has openly stated that he is willing to take less minutes for the team. Favors has been exploding. Sap is Sap. Somehow this situation means negativity for some posters.

Well, some people are idiots and there isn't a cure.

So let me get this straight, instead of making the playoffs this year and maybe lose in the first round you want to lose and have the young players lose big, lose confidence gain a losing attitude instead of being further in development adding roll players to play small rolls in support of the core we have now. Yes maybe they lose in the first round, but next year they grow leaps and bounds have a great year, and in that second year make some noise in the playoffs. Next thing we know the jazz become contender for the next 5 or 6 years.

Just because we go out in the first round this year, and have no lotto picks doesn't mean this team isn't going to improve. Do you actually think the players we have won't improve. Having the Williams Boozer jazz lose in the first isn't good because that team had hit the ceiling. This young core of players have just begun to realize their potential and are learning to maximize their talent as a team. Just think how good these four could be in a few years. Or we could go the GS route and tank and blow up the team every few years. Do you think Jordan just came into the league and started winning tittles? No. First he had small successes then he managed to win a playoff series the after 3 or 4 years finally beat the pistons, and started winning championships. Losing won't make this team better only winning will.

If Utah misses the playoffs, their pick will likely be in the 12-14 range, depending on what Phoenix and Minnesota do.

Given our current salaries and proximity to the tax threshhold, I think it very likely KOC drafts two lottery picks OR uses Memo's TPE. I just don't see adding two expensive rookies + adding an additional high-salaried player.

Why can't we get to the 4 seed? Homecourt in the first round.....sounds great to me.

Memphis, I don't even know how they ever got there. The jazz blew them out easily.
Dallas has been up and down. Denver gave Nene away.

With the way this season has gone, anything can happen.

I'll bite. Because 10 of the 16 are on the road and not against the likes of the Kings. Atlanta, Boston, San Antonio, the Clips, Houston, Memphis. All on the road. We'd have to go 3-3 against these teams imo (which I suppose is possible) and then 7-2 at home to finish off 10-5 imo to even have a sniff of a shot at this 4 seed. Again, I guess it's possible. This team has surprised us. But I think some (many?) of us are waiting for reality to set in. I expect that reality over the next couple of weeks.

From what I saw I can tell this:

Pathetic D by Big Al, especially in the start of 3rd Q. It's just his game and I realize that he do his best.

* If we want to be just a .500 team and not a championship contenders we can go with Big Al and his game.

Uh...$4mm for two players isn't "expensive", and the Jazz are nowhere near the tax threshold.
