Jazz listed as possible trade destination for Derrick Williams

I still feel like we are giving up more there. Williams and Shved don't have any production whatsoever. Bigger unknowns. Plus, they are both on the books for next year. Get Shabazz Muhammed too while we are at it and make them take JL3 and I would be in.

What's the point of Williams and Shved? They don't make the Jazz worse now and don't make the Jazz better long term. No reason to make that trade. Marvin for Derrick straight up isn't much different. Instead of finding a FA next year to replace Marvin, you just get him now. Marvin at least helps Minny in the present, so there's some incentive for Minnesota to do it. Derrick does nothing for the Jazz and his body of work doesn't suggest there's long term impact, which is disappointing for me since I was really high on Derrick when he was drafted.

David Kahn teams haven't exactly been incredible at developing talent... might not be DWills fault... its not a bad trade if its Marvin Williams for Derrick Williams straight up, maybe Brandon Rush for more filler. Doesnt hurt the tank, and might work out down the line for building a stacked team.
 
Jazz have their roster and long term payroll just where they want it.
Be surprised if they make any deal right now.

The same could be said for the Jazz...Corbin hasn't developed any of the young players into anything remotely valuable on the trade market.

+1 its likely the only reason why we're on list of possible destinations is we have cap space or will have (upcoming), even though it should be set in stone for now.
Id only trade for Dwill2 if Rush or Marvin, RJ are involved, our draft picks for next two years should be off the table
