Jazz move their D-League affiliate renamed *Salt Lake City Stars*

Their arena is actually in West Valley. Obviously they think the advantages of having both teams integrated outweigh the disadvantages of canabalizing their own market. I'm sure the total revenue of a full stadium for the Stars is nowhere close to the front row revenue for the Jazz so they probably don't care about Stars profitability in a traditional way.

Yeah I don't think this is a business deal in terms of ticket revenue... It's about development and logistics to make that development more effective.

Cool logo though...

Seems a little odd they are playing in SLC. Why compete with yourself? Why not the Sandy Stars, or the Provo Prudes?

The Wasatch Front is really just one big Metro. There really isn't a separate market to put them in. Provo is 100% within the Jazz market area.

Even the College teams(especially BYU & UTAH) compete along the entire Wasatch Front. They share a market, they don't have their own. They might be stronger in their respective neighborhoods but both fan bases run the entire 90 or so miles.

Nice uni's. Hopefully the Jazz will update their own similarly.

Something i'd like to point out... NBA teams d-league affiliates follow their counterparts logo's pretty closely in terms of color. There's no green present in the SLC Stars logo. I wonder if the new Jazz logo is gonna be absent of the green.

from the site

Borrowing the navy and gold from the parent club Utah Jazz, the shared colors symbolize the partnership between the two teams.

You could be on to something...

I like the green, but green Jazz t-shirts at the stores inside the arena are practically non-existent. I was able to find just one style when I went to a game earlier this season. Same last year. I think green might be phased out.
