Hood scoring a ton of points efficiently and making some plays for others and on defense, but the Jazz's D sucks so they lose is a pretty optimal tank game.

No, it's pretty much just a raw stat award. It's just rare bad teams bring a player who is good enough off the bench to contend for it.
