What's new

Jazz @ NY Knicks (5:30p MDT)

I don't know if it makes sense to have "major concerns" about a rookie who's still got all the time in the world to learn nuances and is already our most reliable and skilled scorer already. Be majorly concerned about cha boi Hood.

I don't have concerns about it for Hood because I don't expect Hood to be a star. I expect Hood just to become a better version of what he is, which just includes slightly increasing his FTR, which he is showing signs of.

A guy like Mitchell who has no explosion off 1 foot makes it hard to get to the FT line. I know "just a rookie", but his FTR is currently .149 (actually lower than that because the most recent game where he took 17 shots with no FTA hasnt been put in yet), which is lower than any single Rodney Hood season, which is not something I expected from a guy as athletic as Mitchell, even as a rookie.

Just watched the game and that was a bummer. It was frustrating to see the Jazz struggle on offense even when their threes were going down and the Knicks had to try and chase them off the three point line. We really struggled to get into the paint.

More frustrating were how many balls just bounced Knicks way in the second half. Multiple turnovers and blocks just bounced right into Knicks hands and gave them open shots. That is one of the most frustrating things to have happen as a player.

Glad to see Hood step up a bit.

Mitchell was amazing in the first half but he had 2 or 3 bad plays in the clutch tonight. But you expect that of a rookie sometimes. He was trying to do too much at the end.

I really liked seeing the Mitchell, Hood, Ingles, Sef and Favors lineup. I also liked seeing the Mitchell, Burks, Hood, Inlges and Favors lineup.

Burks needs a little more playing time. He was solid tonight on defense. He had a lot of hustle. He did pass up some open threes that he needs to take and he missed a couple big baskets but I think he deserves a little more time, probably at the cost of Rubio right now.
