At his salary, no.So is he one of the washed up players we should take a chance on?

I am not sure. I wish we had paid a little less so we didn't push into the tax this year. I also am wondering why we paid full MLE and now the guy can't even hold up under a backup center load. I think splitting time with Udoka will help (Favs takes a 1/3 or so of the nights off and Udoka becomes the backup those nights). That might help us see if we can trade one of them for some value or if Udoka is good enough that he might be an improvement or allow us to move Favs with little to no consequence. Quin is such a creature of habit I'm not sure he could do this.I was ultimately happy that Favors was back because I love him but I found the move weird when it happened. He had some great overall play, plus/minus with the Pelicans so the money didn't come as much of an overpay but paying a little extra so you don't have to go after perimeter defenders and alter the rotation too much.
There were also some warning signs. Fave had an abysmal bubble season. In the bubble, he couldn't move at all, looked so slow I thought he was injured. Bubble was an unique situation, though and I didn't give it much thought. It wasn't like Pelicans were playing for something.
I think Fave is here to stay. He is well liked and still plays better than most back-ups. Money would be better used somewhere else but so would be the assets we have.
I know I shouldn’t read too much into Tony’s recent article, but it sure feels like we are in store for a “run it back” offseason.
To me, it's simple - if we can unload his salary for nothing, we should do it. If it takes us adding an asset, we shouldn't do it.I am not sure. If they can get off his salary for a low price I'd do it. If not I don't force it.
Best case scenario:Which is best case scenario at this point. Conley re-signing is what is best for the team. We are going to be worse if he doesn’t re-sign. Use the MLE to go get a wing who can defend and we are right back in the mix for contention.
Sumner is a guy I’d consider bringing onboard, actually.Don is friends with everyone in the league except Dhillon Brooks, Gary Trent, Edmond Sumner, and Rudy Gobert.
If JC can be sold high, then I’m selling. For Marcus Smart, pls.I wish we could somehow replace Clarkson with Doug McDermott. He's a free agent so it would probably have to be a sign and trade with Indiana. Locke mentioned him this morning when talking about the best points gained players in the league. I think he could replace JC as our bench scorer and be WAY more efficient. He averaged nearly 14 points a game last year and shot 53% from the field and 39% from 3, Clarkson shot just 42.5% from the field and 35% from 3. Clarkson is -0.7 in Locke's points gained and McDermott is +1.4.
And this was an obvious problem last season as well. Not addressed.Rebounding in the playoffs was a big concern. We gave up too many second chance shots.
I’d guess that you’d sour on him pretty quickly. His decision-making is exhausting....... But maybe Quin’s system would help him a ton.Sexton would be an interesting trade idea if Conley left. Don’t know what they’re asking or if we’d even be able to put together a package for him but I like him a lot. He fits Donovan’s timeline perfectly.
Um, yeah it does. Also, lemme add a lol. Bai.We couldn’t defender the perimeter against the Clippers but if nobody can guard Sexton/Mitchell does it really matter?
It says a lot, actually. Unfortunately.Conley was easily our 2nd most impactful perimeter defender this year, which is saying very little obviously, but he was good.
