Jazz Offseason Plan

I'm asking seriously, what is so special about Porter?

We have an injury prone PG, three players who pretty much offense and nothing else. I just don't think Porter is worth the risk. His injury history is dreadful.

Good defender. Long. Good rebounder. Good offensively. 40+% career 3PT shooter. Nice guy. Risky but ultimate buy low guy with really good ceiling that hinges only on health. If he’s healthy his overall skill is on par with a Bojan/Clarkson/Ingles caliber but with different skills we need.

Remember when the Rockets signed Christian Wood for 15 mill and we signed Favors at 10 mill. That was a good one

I bet Porter is who they’re targeting. He’s an an up and down career, wildly he just turned 28 this year. I think he can be very good for us in this system and I’d be fine if that’s who they used the TPMLE on. Idk maybe he can be gotten on a minimum too.

I think in the right situation Porter can be a decent role player. He can be our Bobby Portis.

You can have all the skills a team would want but if you cannot stay healthy what is the point. It is not like Porter had one injury and then played two or three seasons. He has been hurt every since he signed his mega deal. You guys complain about all the injuries Exum had well Porter isn't that much better. I know he played more games but still he is hurt a lot. Now if he was only taking just the vet minimum then ok. If he gets hurt it doesn't hurt you financially. I still like Craig and Portis Jr even if it is not possible to do.

Can someone remind me, did we meet with Porter in the summer that Hayward left, or was it just scheduled? Something like that might help our chances if he was impressed before

Supposedly met with him.

I remember when free agency included these guys flying to these states and scoping things out.

It was from Tony Jones. He said the Jazz have one major target for their TPMLE and that he'll drop the name tomorrow in his story for The Athletic.
Don't know why Tony keeps saying these things that he quickly regrets. He's been deleting more tweets recently.

I’d far rather have him on the vet minimum, if the Jazz can get him at that I’d love him. I can’t believe he just turned 28, he seems old as hell.
