Jazz players at the World Cup

I would be upset if I was Hayward too. He put in a lot of time with the team that took away from other things he could have been doing. Once games roll around, everyone should at least get a chance to prove themselves. He didn't get a fair shake.

The biggest thing that bothers me is the whole Rudy Gay thing. If they really thought Rudy was a better fit for the national team why wasn't he invited originally over Hayward??? To me that is a sign that Hayward literally had a 0% chance of making the final cut. If injuries/withdraws don't improve your chances of making the team it means he wasn't considered a finalist from the beginning.

Also, Rudy Gay and Demarcus Cousins are both representing our country???!!!!!!! Is Coach K insane?

I could see all the guys getting cut being upset with the Rudy Gay and Plumlee additions. Gay being added was the death sentence for Hayward. After telling all select players they were not being considered for the World Cup team and then adding Plumlee wouldn't make me happy.

I think the USA team should have kept another shooter. Davis, Faried, Plumlee, Drummond and COusins seems like too many big guys in a game that requires outside shooting. I certainly don't think the USA is a lock to win the whole thing.

Brazil was the only real competition for the team. DR and PR should have been blown out by more.

Just seems like alot of hatin for our own country team goin on

I partially agree with you fish, but orengello has a valid point too.

Turkish NT this year have the worst team of maybe the last 30 years and they are with 1W - 7L so far in the preparation games. And guess what, the only game they won was against Puerto Rico that have scored 86 points against USA.

I was on break yesterday and watched a little bit of the game and what i saw was plumlee strip barea of the ball which led to a nice fast break bucket by rose

then i saw harden pass up a wide open 3 and passed down low to an open plumlee for the easy basket

then thompson passed to rudy gay who was in the post with a point guard on him for an easy turnaround 8 foot jumper.

I have yet to see a single post in this thread saying something good about what team usa has done in any game so far....... yet they are destroying every team, every game.

Yep. I read this thread during the game against DR - I thought the U.S. had squeaked out a 1 point win. Nope, they won by about 45. lol.

Bottom line regarding Hayward - he just isn't that good. He'll be a decent role player or a solid Robin to Burks' Batman, but when competing with all-star caliber players, a role player like Hayward just doesn't belong. One of these kids is not like the others.

Even though the US is winning, doesn't mean they are playing good basketball. They obviously have more talent that most of these other countries at every position.

They are not just winning though.
They are dominating, shooting good percentage, low turnovers, etc etc.

And this team isn't nearly as talented as teams from past years. Hayward almost made the team.

France is playing right now vs Finland. You can watch it on French Canal Sport+. Here's live boxscore: https://www.fibalivestats.com/matches/3886/12/48/14/25sH5hmtVcrI/
Halftime:
Rudy has 2 pts(0/1FG, 2/2 FT), 3 rb, 1 block in 5:44 mins of play
Rudy starts the last quarter and grabs the first rebound. Diaw in for Gobert.
End of game.
Gobert with 2pts(0/1 FG, 2/2 FT), 4rbs, 1 bl in 10 minutes of play.

Still doesn't mean they are playing "good".

They barely have any offensive scheme if you watch the games.

This post is a real treat. So winning/dominating games by 30+ points isn't good basketball? That's like saying you'd rather have a Memphis Team that plays GREAT team ball over a Thunder team that plays iso ball, but is the far superior team
