Jazz Pushing For Jaylen Brown

Sarah Todd's article in the DN today about what busts the last three drafts have been has me wondering if everything isn't up for trade at the moment.

Keyonte isn’t a bust. He’s good for where he was drafted. Brice and Flip are nice picks too.

Cody is a ‘limited’ player, but last year’s draft as a whole isn’t a game-changer. Hendricks is a 3D big, which is fine.

What the Jazz lack is a franchise-defining Option 1a. They’re supposed to get that in next year’s draft.

Unfortunate reality: whatever we would hypothetically trade for Brown has a low likelihood of ever being as good as Brown. We’d be keeping that package under the hopes of the low-probability scenario.

But that’s not an endorsement of the deal. The only way out is through.
If only it was that simple.

100% true. Just like the odds are not great of getting someone as good as Donny in what we got back are pretty high.

My guess at a deal. Hopefully they are smart and keep Sexton if they do this BS

Key, 5th pick, Collins, JC, KJ Martin and the Suns pick is like the lowest realistic price.

This is quite a dumb idea. If the Jazz had all the pieces to make some serious noise next year, and still have assets to make that trade for Jalen Brown, then yes. But the Jazz are no where near that. The heck are the Ainge bozos doing?

You also have a perfect tank environment with every team in the West except for maybe NO not tanking. Kings could join the tank race... hear some rumblings they could sell off... but everyone is trying like hell to be competitive. Wait for some of them to hit the wall and profit off the tank... buy their **** when they give up.

I'm not even pro tank or anti-trade for star....but come on Ryan/Danny/Austin/Whoever. Now is not the time and Jaylen Brown is not the guy.

So… what if the guy the Jazz like in the later lottery is Demin, and he’s supposed to be our on-ball guy?

So it’s Demin, Brown, Lauri, Hendricks, Walker. That’s a decent group defensively.

Who is P Will and why him Need more info please
We don't. Patrick Williams. He was supposed to be Kawhi Leonard but is like not that at all. He is owed 18m a year for like 3-4 years. Its a salary dump to move up.

This move made 1000% more sense two years ago than it makes now, unless they have something else lined up.

Is Ryan maybe pushing to end the tank? Was he not on board with what we did this season?

Ke.
Key's put up some nice stats. Here's where I fell off the Key train: First the pouting and the apparent unwillingness to play D at times last season. Also in his rookie season when he hurst his foot and was out a few games, the Jazz suddenly started to look like world beaters when Kris Dunn took his place in the lineup. I realize Key would just be a senior in college this fall so there is time to get his mind right. For her article Sarah had to have had some intel from the Jazz FO. I doubt this is a stream of conciousness piece

Shams was on ESPN and said the Celtics would prefer to keep both Brown and White and it would take an offer that absolutely blows them away to think about moving either one. Jake Fischer also said he doesn't think Boston will move them.
honestly, this has to be the most likely option. Retooling around Tatum, Brown, and White in 12 months will not be that hard.
