Jazz select Grayson Allen at 21

One thing I can say about his troubles with finishing around the rim - the Jazz have had very good success developing young players' finishing through variety of scoop shots, nifty off-rhythm, off-leg finishes, etc. Lets see what they can do with Grayson....

For the record... I love the Grayson Allen pick. I think he'll be a great back up, possible decent starter.

Then we should sell our first rounders too... I mean most of those guys don’t pan out... plus if we hit on more of them how would we pay all the talent.
First rounders are like rolling the die and trying to hit even numbers. Second rounders are like playing slot machines. Yeah, the Jazz have missed on a lot of their first rounders, but they've done well with them too.

So just punt and don’t gamble at all... and trade the basketball asset for cash... that really doesn’t help the basketball side at all... but I’m sure it’s reinvested in the program since we are always spending big and buying up assets.

I mean that’s how GSW built their dynasty... and SA too they just gave those picks away for cash because the chances you hit are 5%-10%, so why bother. Smart management... jump way the hell over those dollars to grab at a few pennies.

So here is what gives me hope (I am okay with the pick for the record)

Common traits of dudes that got better under our development program:

Coachable
Hard working
Desire/Love for the game
Good B.B. IQ
Able to play with others/selfless

Traits of guys who failed or got stagnant:

Not teachable
Not committed
Selfish
Low BB IQ
Guys named Trey

Some guys had length, some had athleticism, some were already good shooters, some were bad...

Basically everyone that really gave their all succeeded at getting better... I think Grayson has many of the things that we will need to make him better. So I’m cool.

Had an amazing season

Jerome Robinson

- fearless offensive mentality in college

Collin Sexton
- seems like a likeable guy

Anybody else feel like Robinson and Sexton were drafted higher than they should have been in part because teams are looking for "the next Donovan"?
