What's new

Jazz select Grayson Allen at 21

Simons is already more offensively skilled than Allen and more talented on the ball, and he's 3 years younger. He needs a year or two to develop physically.

Are you going to remember this in a couple years when Simons is the better player?

Haha, better yet, I’ll remember it in 4 when he’s playing in China.

Oh I don’t think he’s a homophobe, he was just attempting to be funny. I would believe the typo if he hadn’t done it multiple times, after being called out for it.

My 10 year old nephew thought it was funny, but a bit juvenile.

Y'all have to take into account, this was a phenomenal year in testing most of these guys in private.

They had more than an educated guess like we do. Who else got to see Simons battle Okobo up close etc etc

I wasn't ecstatic about the choice but I feel real good about it.

We shall see.

I'm just wondering whose minutes he's going to take. I guess it would have to be Exum/Burks/O'Neale/Neto. If he's not shooting the ball well, he probably isn't going to play much.

I hope to one day shake hands with Dennis Lindsey so he can feel my hand pads.

Im a neto fan but id say its easy to see him taking all of burks and neto minutes

Having read all of the concerns in this thread I have not seen much on his BBIQ along with his overall intelligence. He has graduated from Duke.
  • Only three Duke players have been all-ACC academic four years: Amile Jefferson, Quin Snyder, Grayson Allen

  • Five players have scored 1,900 points, 400 rebounds, 400 assists: Johnny Dawkins, Danny Ferry, Jon Scheyer, Grant Hill, Grayson Allen

  • -Six players have been an All-American and Academic All-American: Mike Gminski, Jim Spanarkel, Shane Battier, Mike Dunleavy, Mason Plumlee, Grayson Allen.
I see his competitiveness as a positive far more than a negative. Replacing a soft Hood with a fiery Allen should be a positive right out of the gate. I think he will be a great fit and positive impact.
