Jazz select Kyle Filipowski at pick 32

Tatum to the Jazz confirmed. Trader Dan playing 4D chess. Everybody was watching Bronny to see who picked him to force his dad’s move, and nobody saw Filipowski slide into the snazzy jazzy recruiter role before the pick was ever made.

Both Tatum and Brown love - and I mean LOVE Danny. They’re both on record, Tatum speaks about him like you talk about your favorite professor in college. And Tatum describes Will as “his guy.”

I know you’re being snarky but I wouldn’t be surprised to see it if the opportunity and timing makes sense at some point.

Halfway snarky, halfway serious. I think Tatum is a guy that Danny Ainge would gladly make a godfather offer for. Any positives in the Jazz favor when that happens is gravy.

I don’t think their feelings of these things are strong or important enough to chose to live in Utah.

Danny Chau of the Ringer with one of the weirdest (best) write ups I’ve ever seen:

Once again, the Jazz are picking up the best players available as they fall. Let’s try a word association exercise here: If Josh McRoberts was the Nate Robinson of Brad Millers, and Kelly Olynyk is the Chris Duhon of Dirk Nowitzkis, then why can’t Kyle Filipowski be the Rafer Alston of Domantas Sabonises? There will be questions about Filipowski’s defense, but the Duke diaper dandy has the dribble-pass-shoot skill set that is so rare and valuable for a big man. After trading Olynyk to the Raptors during the last trade deadline, Utah finds itself with a younger version. No-brainer.
Grade is an A.
